Jackson confirmed to corner Jones in bout versus Evans

source: mmafrenzy.com

After months of speculation and denial, Greg Jackson will corner Jon Jones in his match against Rashad Evans at UFC 145, after all. Following Jones’ win at UFC 128, Jackson vowed he would not train or corner Jones for his matchup with Evans (if they were to be matched up against one another), due to being the head trainer for both over the two years prior.

However, Jones confirmed on Twitter that he will indeed have his head trainer in his corner for his championship fight against Evans at UFC 145 in Atlanta, Georgia on April 21st.

No, there were not. Rashad was the only other one, and he was there at Jardine's specific urging and request. A man who doesnt want a conflict of interest to arise/look slimey, WILL in fact only have one contender in each weight division, rather than chasing down possible contenders like a whore in heat. Boxing trainers dont fill their gyms with contenders from the same weights, for very, very good reasons.

How come no one is giving Rashad shit for upping and leaving all the training partners that made him who he is? They lost a good training partner and now he is trashing their gym.

LOL Bullshit. Evans got injured and the UFC offered the title shot to Jones. How is that "pushing Jones to a title shot over Evans"?? You're saying Jackson should have forced Jones to turn it down or something?? Give me a break. As for the whole "he brought another LHW into camp", so what?? There were already multiple other LHWs in camp, even one who was pretty damn close to figthing for a title himself (Keith Jardine). Do you really expect Jackson to only have one fighter in camp from each division? His guys know thats not going to be the case so nobody is forcing them to stay. They can leave if they want...like Diego they may come back.
