Dana White: MC Hammer convinced me on Nate Marquardt’s return
UFC President Dana White recently revealed that Nate Marquardt was signed by the ZUFFA-owned Strikeforce, after being released by the UFC in June of 2011, for being denied a license to fight by the Pennsylvania AC after failing to meet the requirements for a TRT exemption. “I’m done," said White at the time. "I am done with Nate.” The turn around was orchestrated by MC Hammer, who, along with Lex MacMahon and Nima Safapour, manage Marquardt's career as the principals behind Alchemist Management. “MC Hammer is involved in his team," said White. "He asked if we could meet; I met him in Los Angeles and he presented the case for Nate, and I said, 'Listen, I love you, but he's gonna have to go somewhere else, fight in other places and come back.' He opted to sit out and not fight anywhere else. He wants to fight in the UFC. So we're going to give him a shot in Strikeforce [and see what happens].” Below Hammer responds to the news: Related MMA gear from the UG Store
