DFW fuming over Johnson-McCall mistake

source: tucsoncitizen.com

While the two involved combatants dealt with obviously different emotions, White’s demeanor was clear as day. If you think he’s happy that maybe a little controversy will help sell a rematch, think again.

“There is nothing positive about that result,” White told MMAjunkie.com. “I would rather have ended it tonight. We had two badass fights that everybody loved that would have led into the title fight. That would have been best-case scenario.”

White, who said he wasn’t told about the error until after the entire show was over, couldn’t believe the mistake.

“As soon as the show ended, they came over and told me,” White said. “After the card was done, they came up to me, and I said, ‘You’ve got to be [expletive] me. How is this possible?’”

So maybe, in some odd way, the strange error could prove beneficial. After all, a little controversy never hurt anyone trying to sell a fight, and the division that didn’t exist before this week suddenly has a very compelling storyline.

Except White’s not buying that idea.

“Imagine if they would have come out and said, ‘This is going to a fourth round,’” White said. “The crowd would have went crazy. People at home would have went crazy. It would have been an incredible atmosphere and an incredible moment.

“There’s nothing good about this, but what can you do? The commission owned up to it, apologized for it, and all we can do is move on.”

Seriously. It's always easy to figure out the conspiracy after the fact since you can just dump any old crazy idea to match what happened. You guys don't think the UFC would like at least one white American champ? Lol. The ufc tried to fix it, but no the fans were too smart this time! So they did the switcheroo! Some people are so dumb.

Even if you concede that one mistake, you also have to take account a second erroneous scorecard that Buffer read

I don't think the fight was fixed and there is no reason to have fixed the fight. The problem is they posted a picture of the alleged errant scorecard and that was not the score the Bruce Buffer read. I realize how easy it is to just lol @ conspiracy theorists, but let's see the facts. There is a picture of the scorecard which the commission says was a mistake, the problem is that scorecard which is a mistake is not the scorecard the Bruce Buffer read which is also a mistake.. So ok if the scorecard in the picture is a mistake, where the fuck did Bruce Buffer get the scores that he announced??? Scorecards submitted were wrongBruce Buffer read 3 judges scores that we have no idea where they came from and there has been no explanation why they are wrong and different also. This is not something that seems acceptable to just blow over. And if we don't bitch about it, it will blow over. Let's at least make them think up a bull shit cover up excuse.

In NJ, they have a scorekeeper who tallies up the cards, then a NJSACB official checks the scorekeeper's totals.  With so much on the line, it's pretty shocking the commission made a simple arithmetic mistake.

He should be, they ruined what would have been an incredibly amazing, unheard of, & memorable 4th round.

I think a petition to have DFW Jr. Post the ACTUAL INDIVIDUAL judges scorecards is in order.  Just show us each individuals scoring, so we can compare it to the "Main" scorecard.  It would also be nice if Dana could explain how Buffer's call didn't even match the "Main" scorecard either....???
