Fedor hints at move to the UFC

source: rt.com

“I can tell you the timing of my next bout right now,” Fedor said in his interview with Sportbox.ru. “It’s going to be June or July.”

The venue of the match has not been set yet, but, according to the 35-year-old, the match is most likely to take place in the US.

“Of course, I want to compete at home, in front of my countrymen,” the Last Emperor stressed. “But at the moment, the strongest and most respected MMA organization is situated in America. It’s the UFC. Therefore, I have to go to the US in order to face the strongest opponents.”

There is also no certainty about the name of his opponent, with the media reports linking Fedor to possible bouts against American fighters – Cain Velasquez and Josh Barnett.

The Russian confirmed that both options are now being discussed, but added that he would like to avoid taking on Barnett.

“I really sympathize with Josh, and we’ve been friends for a long time,” he said. “Perhaps, he is the only fighter whom I wouldn’t want to meet in the ring.”

It is good that you are already working on defending Bones' legacy. He will need it once he loses a couple of fights.

Just because a noob like yourself doesn't recognize the names on Fedor's record, does not mean he only had 2 good wins. You must be young to have such an uninformed opinion and be so sure of it.

Herring was a good enough win to earn Brock a title shot. What does that say about the UFC HW Division circa 08-09?

VTFU if I could Caposa!! Prove Nog's boxing an wrestling was 5x better or shut your mouth. And Mirko was coming off very bad injuries after the GP. Just because you win doesn't mean you're okay. He struggled with major foot and ankle surgery and I believe even more, but I could be wrong. Go do some research, it'll probably be good for you. I'm glad you guys kept this up. Your desperation has really revealed itself.

Cro Cop was most definitely not in his prime against Gonzaga.

Lol @ Auzzie and Einstenz, the prolific paid posters of this still young 2012, fighter bashing yet again, while demonstrating monumental ignorance of mma.Don't make me turn this into a Led Zeppelin appreciation thread....

The ONLY point you might have is big nog. But Henderson beat nog before fedor did.Nog's boxing and wrestling got at least 5x better since his fedor fights, but I'll give you that, the nog win was good.Cro Cop was KOed DURING his prime by Gonzaga, so no, fedor's win over cro cop isn't some unique fairytale accmplishment. Randleman KOed Cro Cop in his prime as well.

Fedor was not even close to cleaning out his weight class in heavyweights, or his true weight class, LHW division. Jon Jones is 2 wins away from doing this in what, 18 fights? Shows who was spending the ten years fighting cans, and who was spending the 4 years fighting real competition.

Cro cop and big nog were the best in the world web Fedor beat them.
