TUF Live debuts with 1.3 million viewers

The heavily promoted season debut of "The Ultimate Fighter: Live" averaged a 0.95 household rating and 1.3 million viewers on FX.

MMAjunkie.com today confirmed the ratings information with industry sources.

Despite a new format and 16 live elimination-round fights during a super-sized two-and-a-half-hour run time, the "TUF: Live" debut fell short of the two million viewers Spike TV averaged for the first 14 "TUF" season debuts.

I am not surprised, I'm a long time UFC fan, train BJJ with several UFC fans, and I had no idea when the series started. "FX"? What is that? I watch FOX and don't recall any commercials for TUF (assuming they are sister companies). What channel this mother fucker on?

I have no clue why they debuted this on Friday. I like the live product, it need some tweaks, but I'm not going to make watching it a priority on a Friday.

Would be nice if you actually knew what you were talking about. In the UFC/Spike deal Spike wanted an option for a year at the end of the deal to air UFC events after the contract was up. In that deal they can show UFC programming for a year and cant show any other mma shows on the network during that time.UFC can buy back the rights for that year but they wont do that, this is the reason SPike is countering every UFC to try to get them to buy back the rights so Spike can show Bellator this year instead of 2013.As for TUF, the format was great, really liked it. Ratings were a bit low but you have to take into account its on a new network, a new night, Friday is the worst night of the week for tv programming and it was being countered by Spike which confuses fans. Shit my brother who is a hardcore fan went out on Friday and recorded it and by mistake recorded the TUF on Spike, just so used to Spike being the UFC's home.So it does confuse people, the countering and Friday night is the problem. If I were the UFC I'd move back to Wed come next season, Friday is the worst night of the week for tv programming.I think the numbers will go up and they will do what they were doing on Spike for the last few seasons.

Faber and Cruz are definitely not a big enticement for people to watch Tuf.. what can they change about the actual show to make it better though??add challenges again??have the guys go out drinking and show a different side of their lives??do what else?? like others said, what kills Tuf even for me is sifting thru 45 minutes of bland training footage and in-house boredom to watch a fight that is usually quite lame.. Tuf should take a lesson from CAGED..yes, the show on mtv..

First of Cruz and Faber are not big draws as coaches. The whole live thing was kind of a fail. when promoting the new season all they said that was new that is was going to be live. Big fuckin deal !!!!UFC kind of dropped the ball with the new TUF. They do not have many selling points for it and people are tired of TUF. They have neglected it for so long that it can't be saved without a real revamp especially from the production team. People don't care for the shitty format anymore. The prizes are pretty weak for the winner and they hold garbage TUF contracts after where they do the non ppv circuit on the prelims

I thought the new format was weird. Anik doing the VoiceOver was flat and boring. All the little bits between rounds, after the fights are better when they are edited, especially when there are huge bouts of silence when they are getting their hand raised. I preferred the old format tbh. Maybe the episodes will be ok.
