Second all that except for the one round fights. I think it brings down MMA as a sport and put it squarely back in the entertainment bracket. I can understand it from the viewpoint of Fox but it is really hit and miss for me becausea) Good fight only last a certain amount of time (to short with one round)b)Bad fights make a one round fight excruciating to watch (to much clinch fighting against the cage or top control from a wrestler with a strong base can be ''deathly'')c)It is the luck of the draw. It does a worse job of making sure the best fighters get into the house because all the other fights (in the house and in their fighting careers) are three or five round fights.....it makes the whole concept of strategy null and void and makes certain techniques (like leg kicks for example) ineffective as tools.Anyways even though it was somewhat entertaining i am glad their going back to the normal format again (though Dana reasoning was very valid). The awkwardness of the live show (pronouncements by Dana did not flow all to well...mostly the fault of the production team and the background silence and ''forced'' crowd of minor celebrities) was a little bit embarrassing but i am sure they improve. The choice of coaches was not the most fortunate from a short term, ratings related only perspective but it will be good for the UFC since they get a chance to get more interest and appeal for the lighter weight classes.I still firmly believe that lightweights should be coached by lightweight fighters etc etc...but that's just my humble personal opinion.Still a lot of room to grow. I do think Fox needs to step things up a little bit. You would expect them to be over the growing pains a lot sooner then a network like Spike was.

To be fair, I can see some of the confusion. You couldn't tell if DW, Faber & Cruz were suppose to be heard on the broadcast or not because they were mumbling a lot. If people are suppose to hear you "thinking out loud" then speak up. If you aren't suppose to be heard then stop mumbling because it could be construed as a production error (mic picking up convo's it wasn't suppose to). One OR the other would have made sense. They were doing both and it was confusing, hence the comments. Maybe something for them to think about the next time they feature a season using this new format. Speak up or shut up=) Viewers were used to bleeps when someone cusses on TUF so the repeated dead-air silence on Fuel was confusing. Was someone messing up? Were they initiating a 5 second delay because someone cussed? And the extended moments of silence, I assume, happened when they were talking at the same time and multiple inappropriate words were silenced (along w/whatever else was in the same sentence, sometimes). I felt like I missed some stuff. I hope they go back to bleeps instead of just silence. And it was waaaay too quiet during the first few fights until people let their hair down and realized they didn't have to be on mute and could enjoy the scraps they were watching. The season won't be like this because fighters will know which team they are on and who they should cheer/root for. I loved the single round eliminations! No time to waste and most got after it as soon as the bell sounded! Cindy

Ian McCall is funny as fuck. First question he had was about the win bonus. Well done sir.Johnson was a major dude about it, too. Props to both.
