Roots of Fight revisits Bruce Lee's impact on the evolution of mixed martial arts with a new mini documentary featuring rare footage of Lee and a capsule collection. This mini-doc Features commentary from Paul Lazenby, Eddie Bravo, and Ralek Gracie.

"I do not teach karate because I do not believe in style," said Lee. "When you don't have style, you can say, here I am as a human being, how can I express myself totally and completely."

"The attitude that you build your own style using whatever works for you," says Paul Lazenby, "That very thought is the cornerstone of modern mixed martial arts."

That was insane. His conditioning was unbelievable.

I think Lee was ahead of his time technique wise. Although, I think todays MMA technique has surpased his technical style as far as training methods and brute effectiveness. I think a lot of his philosophy and methodology is still ahead of todays MMA as far as timing, distance, and fight rhythm in integrating different martial arts.

I think you confused Dan with Bruce. I dont think Bruce trained much wrestling and I know Dan said Bruce had very little knowledge of Muay Thai altho he thought Bruce would have delved much deeper given the chance. Bruce's boxing based on the vids of him actually hitting the bag is laughable and the Ju Jitsu he would have been exposed to was the Japanese JJ which is not that effective. Bruce Lee's philosophy is what really gives him credibility when it comes to MMA.
