Overeem's NSAC hearing set for April 24th; fate of UFC 146 in the balance

source: mmamania.com

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer recently told the MMA Show that Overeem's hearing in front of the Commission will take place on April 24, where they will determine whether or not to license him for the fight. As it turns out, that's the reason Dana White has yet to make a decision on a replacement opponent for dos Santos.

The Wrestling Observer reports that White told them no decision will be made prior to Overeem's hearing. He did reiterate, however, that a heavyweight championship fight will take place at UFC 146, no matter what.

That almost makes it sound as though UFC is hoping "The Reem" has a damn good explanation and ultimately is granted a license and the fight goes ahead as first planned. That seems like a long shot, but crazier things have happened in this game.

i would almost garuntee they have givne JDS a couple options to choose from and he knows very well who he will fight if not overeem.  Almost every UFC fighter knows who they are fighting before they make it public.

My fingers will be crossed, but I think it's a slim chance that The Reem will be granted a license, what a shame.

Here's what you do. JDS vs MirVelasquez vs BarnettEverything else stays the same. Velasquez/Barnett is for number 1 contention. If it's not possible to get Barnett make it Velasquez/Werdum. Problem solved.

He took it after the press conference. The urine was (or should have been) divided into two different tamper proof containers.

The smart hing for Dana to do is let JDS know who would be the replacement. So he can at least take that into account in his training. I also think he should let whoever it is know so they can trainjust in case Reem doesn't get liscensed. However I have a feeling Reem will get doctored records from shady ass doc showing he is on TRT and somehow get a license.

1) Somebody in my camp gave me something to cut weight, and I didn't know I was injecting steroids.2) I took an over-the-counter supplement, and injected it, and it must have been tainted with steroids3) I thought it was flackseed oil4) Those steroids weren't mine, I was just holding them for a friend... And I accidentally injected them. The reason he hasn't made a statement yet is because everybody is tired of hearing all the same lies over and over and over. If he comes out today with a statement saying that somebody gave him something to take, and he didn't know what it was, he's just going to look even worse.
