Hunt: Everything that Alistair has done is meaningless now

source: mmamania.com

"I think people like to see an underdog," said Hunt. I mean, I wasn't event wanted in the UFC and here we are talking about getting a title shot. I think people like the feel good story. No one's told me nothing. I'm always last to find out. I'm still looking to fight Struve, but if I get a title shot then that is better for me and that will be thanks to the 'Army of Doom.' It's not up to me but the chances are good. I think the 'Army of Doom' has been bombing Dana Whites twitter. But whatever happens, it is what it is. But I won't be disappointed and Struve is a tough opponent and I will be moving on and when it is my time to get a title shot, I will.

"You can say whatever you want, but the UFC, at the end of the day they are going to do what they want, it's their call."

"Drugs in all sports is a big problem. It's a cutthroat business, people take this shit just to get by. I don't use that shit, but when Alistair takes that shit or whoever takes it they just screw themselves out. Like when Barnett screwed himself out of the fight with Fedor.

"But who am I too judge anybody. I don't take that s--- and no one else should. If they do, that's on them, Alistair is now in court, and everything that Alistair has done is meaningless now. At the end of the day he just got caught cheating, so what's the deal? I lost to him, so did he use that shit when I was fighting him? That's on him, he has to live with that shit not me. It's not my position to judge him, he has to look himself in the mirror.

"At the end of the day, I don't give a crap who's taking what. The steroids are not going to help them when I hit them. Take as much as you like, I don't care."

yeh, we're on the same page. i'm the biggest Hunt nuthugger on this forum but to not acknowledge that the ground is clearly his weakness and to attribute his loss to AO (or anyone else) by submission to roids or anything other than a poor ground game is myopic, foolish and WRONG.i was simply stating that the impression i got from the Hunt quote on your OP wasn't that Hunt was attributing that loss to a roided AO.

Don't disagree with anything you've said. I agree with all of it. Despite genuinely feeling that AO on no roids would've finished Hunt with sub on the ground, I think that despite a legit performance, it is still tainted by this current steroid scandal. But his fight with Hunt being Tainted, versus his fight with Hunt being decided solely because of steroid usage, is two totally different things.   Chael Sonnen, career tainted because of failed test. Say Chael didn't get tapped against Anderson and was first awarded the W before Nsac would've overturned it. That fight, would undeniably be tainted and attributed to steroid usage. Chael vs Tim McKenzie where Chael tapped him out in 13 seconds. Was that steroids, or skill that time?  I say skill.  Could roids have played a part? Perhaps a small one, but significant to provide that outcome? No way. Luckily for my argument, I have Gegard Mousasi at 218lbs fully clothed at the weigh ins, vs Mark Hunt. I have AO at 240lbs vs Mark Hunt. Both fights ended with a fast first round arm submission.  The only difference, is one fighter was pushed down by Hunt, and Hunt landed in top position, and the other fighter pushed Hunt down, and landed on top. The fighter who got "pushed" by Hunt, is the same fighter accused of beating Hunt solely because of steroids. The fighter who pushed Hunt down and landed on top, was much lighter than AO, fought the SAME opponent, and finished Hunt with an arm submission. I, with LOGIC, say that Hunt's weakness is his ground game in those losses(and every loss but Manhoef). Multiple other people, are saying Hunt only lost to AO because of Roids. That I 100% disagree with.

D241, while I agree that that the question of whether AO was roiding in the Hunt fight or not is pretty irrelevant based on the outcome, I'm not sure I understand attacking Hunt for bringing it up.All he said was that IF AO was roiding, "that's on him". Hunt says repeatedly that he isn't judging and actually doesn't care. As far as saying that it invalidates what AO has accomplished, do you not agree?I also didn't feel that that comment was a defense for losing, it was more of a comment on AO carreer as a whole and the fact that the only one who has to face that reality is Alistar.

Reem = Barry Bonds. Both lean, mean athletic men who blew up into giants on roids. Peoples body types do not exponentially grow in their 20s and 30s. Sure men will fill out (dont worry, most of you will get there someday), but not like those two. It was obvious Bonds was roiding and it is equally obvious Reem was too. I enjoyed watching Reem fight, but in the back of my mind I knew he was dirty.
