Penn turns down bout with Koscheck

source: twitter.com

Last night Josh Koscheck tweeted that the UFC had offered him a bout with retired ex-Champion BJ 'The Prodigy' Penn. Today, we have our answer:

@joshkoscheck I know it costs a lot of money to live that lavish lifestyle, big house, fast cars & you need big fights but sorry I’m not coming back anytime soon!

Maybe BJ should just come out and state who he wants to fight? He's obviously got somebody in mind, so why not come out with it? Something tells me Uncle Dana is going to get a little steamed if he keeps turning fights down (although it's clearly within his right to do so).

I've always been a Penn fan, win, lose, or draw, but if he comes back I want to see the BJ that fought Stevenson, Sherk, Florian, and Sanchez, and maybe the 3rd Hughes fight. That's the only version of BJ I would like to see return, aggressive, motivated, & in shape with a 5 round gas tank. That's the guy I'd like to see again.

I think BJ doesn't want to lower himself and help pay for Kos' lavish lifestyle. He doesn't want to help Kos make more money especially off of BJs name. BJs a legend in the sport. Koscheck isn't an ex-champion he's just a guy that will do whatever he needs to do to win except evolve. Also who would want to get "accidentally eyepoked"

I'm not sure they would so Rory-Kos. They don't like to match a fighter coming off a win with one coming off a loss.

Oh Lazy Jay.  You didn't retire.  You were laid off 209 style.  I wouldn't come back either

ahhh cmon BJ. I have a bet riding on whether he will return less than a year after the Diaz fight.

I'm neutral on that... My interest in seeing BJ fight has more to do with whether or not Marinovich would be his trainer. Other than that I'd like to see BJ do some grappling matches.

Maybe Pedro can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I saw some footage of Marv in Hilo within the last 6mo?Marv is THE man!

If Kos wants another title run, Rory seems like a good fight. But I think it was after he beat Hughes he said he wanted more big money fights nowadays. If that's really the case maybe he should look at going up to MW and fighting someone like Leben and then Bisping/Belfort/Wanderlei Silva if he wins. Those fights would keep him living like a boss for the rest of his life imo.

Man, I miss Marinovich BJ.Like many others have said, MacDonald vs Koscheck would be a good fight too.
