Invicta FC 2 fight card set


Tickets for the sophomore Invicta Fighting Championships all-women’s event featuring a bantamweight main event showdown between 2004 Olympic Wrestling Silver Medalist and undefeated MMA star Sara McMann of Gaffney, SC. and battle-tested submission wizard Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler of Sioux Falls, SD., go on sale Fri., June 1.

In the bantamweight  co-main event of the 13-bout fight card that will take place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan. on Sat., July 28, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu black belt and Cesar Gracie-protégé Alexis Davis of Colborne, Ontario Canada will take on former Smackgirl Champion Hitomi “Girlfight Monster” Akano of Tokyo, Japan.

Priced from $25, tickets will be available for purchase at Memorial Hall box office (913.549.4853), online at and and by phone at 800.745.3000.

“With our second event, we are bringing in top competitors from all over the world in order to deliver a card stacked, from top to bottom, with some of the best matchups in the entire women’s field of MMA fighters,” said Invicta Fighting Championships President and Co-Founder Shannon Knapp.

 they are allowing their roster to fight elsewhere and have been, they arent running many shows anymore but are still keeping the fighters signed. It wouldnt be fair on the fighters not to do that

About fucking time Shayna gets a fight.Strikeforce works a bit differently than what you're accustomed to seeing from the UFC. They do let their fighters fight for other promotions. Usually it's the other way around though with non Strikeforce fighters coming there ala Melendez/Aoki, Melendez/Kawajiri, Diaz/Zaromskis. Overeem fought the K1 and in Dream but he's kinda a big deal.Carmouche, Nunes, Davis and Budd are still with SF.

Strikeforce is now left with four fighters: Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg (who is suspended and can't fight), Sarah Kaufman and Miesha Tate (injured).They also only got one fight in sight, which is Ronda versus Kaufman.I guess the promotion is pretty dead as far as WMMA goes...
