I think he's effective early because of his pace. If he wasnt pressing and assaulting kampmann constantly he'd of been picked apart and beaten severely imo.

When a figher is in the fetal position its over! That short right, and the knees had Ellenberger done with.

Kampmann has always been underrated IMO. I picked him to beat Ellenberger. I think the Daley fight was stopped too early. Kampmann was still standing when the ref stopped that one. Ellenberger was done and it was a good stoppage.

Great fight for sure. Jake is like a 170 version of Shane Carwin pre Brock fight. KO power in both hands, explosive, great wrestler who has very hard to take down. He's so use to just blasting through people with his hands in the first that he doesn't seem to want to expand his game or chooses not to. I don't know how hard the cut is for him but he looked massive last night and they had him listed at 6ft (same height as Martin) and he looked considerably bigger. He should focus more on mixing in his wrestling more and throw more kicks, he already has crisp hands and good footwork. If he lost some mass that would help too, his cardio would improve to help him for these 5 round fights and i doubt he would lose much strength or KO power for that matter. He's young but he needs to diversify if he wants to be champion cause he won't be able to just blast everybody in the 1st.

Perhaps, but Diaz can do anything that Kampmann can, only slightly better. Nonetheless only Kampmann has a lockdown on the crazy comebacks so their might be hope for him after all. Will be very curious to see how his ground game and take-down defense will fair against Hendricks.Glad that Kampmann pulled through btw..he finally gets the moment he deserves.

You can compare the first round and Kampmann being hurt to Jake all you want. The difference is Martin was scrambling and defending himself the entire time. Jake was in the fetal position with his hands on his busted nose/jaw.
