Paul Daley released from Strikeforce contract

According to a statement, Daley (29-12-2 MMA, 2-3 SF), who most recently suffered a March loss to Kazuo Misaki via split decision, is pursuing options with other fight promotions, due in part to his inability to fight frequently with Strikeforce.

"I'm happy that Strikeforce has granted my request to be released from their roster as I found it difficult to fight so infrequently," the British striker stated. "My whole career I've wanted to fight as often as possible as it keeps me in the best form and condition.

"I felt that I put on nothing but entertaining fights while at the organization. The KOs of (Duane) Ludwig and Scott Smith were some great memories for me, as well as the back-and-forth fight of the year I had with Nick Diaz. My manager has already started speaking to some promotions about my future today following the official release papers from Strikeforce, and I'm looking forward to the next part in my journey."

UFC will sign him, this is a Public Relations move...he's a brawler with KO power and an edgy persona, why wouldnt Dana want him to sell tickets in the UK and get some ratings

He has a losing record in SF, why the fuck would the UFC pick him up at this point? I see him doing really well in Bellator though.

Agreed EckY.Paul's Thai game was top notch at one point until he became too focused on his Boxing.

Acidic you only say that because you never watched him fight before he was in UFC, spamming that left hook was working well for awhile, but his kicks and knees are what brought him to the game in the first place.  He, like Manhoef finishes with his punches but he sets things up with kicks and is good in the clinch. He will always be a tough fight for Kampmann.

Sadly Paul wouldnt for various reasons Daley has evolved his game no doubt but the price hes payed is his striking has regressed. Not only has his striking tooken a bad turn but also his heavy reliance on kicks and knees now has effected his epic boxing skills. he might have started off with Muay Thai but his boxing is a lot better then his kickboxing or thai striking.

Paul would waste Martin again.Paul's a better striker, a better finisher, has good enough tdd to prevent it from going to the ground, he's a better finisher and has violent killer instinct. He will always be a bad match up for Martin.

This guy is a joke, please stop reporting on him so he can fade into obscurity.

Not really... Tons of a level wrestlers will keep him far from gatekeeper. If kos can hold h down what's stoping the lines of Fitch or Diego from doing it. Also I think Hendricks , elenberger would handle him on the feet, can't see Kampman losing to him againAnd let's not forget diaz and shields. Plus gsp, and conditNot to mention the up and comers like silva and roryHonestly that right there doesn't even put Daley in the top 10. So gatekeeper is a bit much at this point
