Dana White: Tito tried to damage the UFC more than anyone

source: mmaweekly.com

UFC President Dana White recently announced that Tito Ortiz will be the next inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame. However, relations between the Huntington Beach Bad Boy and his former manager have had their ups and downs.

The ups including Tito's popularity being a prime force carrying the organization during its lean years, and the downs detailed in an interview with MMAWeekly

"Tito's never been about the company of the UFC," said White. "Tito's been about his own brand, Punishment, and Tito Ortiz. I think he's a guy who pound-for-pound—at the time we were hurting—tried to do more damage to [the UFC] than anyone in the history of this company."

During the era of traveling freak shows, there was great controversy. Many thought the shows inhumane and cruel. The show owners defense was often that they gave them a place to go, and paid them more than they could make anywhere else looking the way they do.However the show owner would often be making massive profits and paying their employees a small fraction. Why? Because they could. Because it was the truth. There were very few business options that would pay better.I would assume, in this case, Cindy agrees the Freak Show owner is justified in their actions, and probably applauds their exploitation of the misfortune for their fellow humans. It must feel truly satisfying to have never had to come in contact with such atrocities as "honor" and "integrity." You can look them up in the dictionary if you need to.

No. It's interesting how they have outs and ways to cut people, yet they can't quit their independent contracting job. If they didn't have the clauses in there, things would be a bit better for the fighter side of things. When they cut someone (be it for one loss or 10) they aren't honoring their contract, yet when someone wants to leave the org, see Randy/Heath Herring/Arlovski/huerta they do whatever they can to stall it. I know you have your interests with Zuffa, and I have mine with the fighters, doesn't mean you have to be a cunt to me and I a dickhead to you. So lets just keep it civil.

Although ive watched UFC from the start, It's partly Tito's fault I became a pretty solid professional MMA fan, I'm sure that's benefited the UFC just fine.
