White unhappy with TUF Brazil winner

by Mike Chiappetta | source: mmafighting.com

"I didn’t like it at all," he said in a post-event interview on FUEL TV. "I think that these guys from the Ultimate Fighter Brazil came out like killers in the fight to get into the house, and then all season long. I think because it's such a big event, this place was crazy, it was rocking, they were signing autographs all day. I think they got a little caught up in the hype. Guess what? You’re not in the UFC yet. Come out and you have to perform."

"Usually the finale is the best fight of the season," he said. "These guys come out and they go for it. I think because the arena was packed and these guys felt like rockstars all week, they were coming out singing and dancing and s--- like they already had world titles. It was kind of weird."

Try to remember this is Brazil Tuf 1 and also with a newer weightclass, been done to death in America. And I'm sorry, I think Dana was being cunty and I loved the fights, but Morraes-Fer was pretty shitty technical. I loved it because Ferreira landed some sick shots, but all in all got beat by a striker with miserable technique and who only won by heart. I loved it because I've a soft spot for grapplers who bring it and never back down in the stand up, but it was a pretty one dimensional fight where the fighter with zero striking experience almost beat and at least stoop on par with the better striker. Fun but nowhere near FOTY imo

Holds no world titles, no MMA fights yet emberasses himself publicly. I dont think hes in any position to voice his bias opinion on what real fighters should be doing or saying.

So some time after Randy burned the UFC the Champions Clause came into effect.... When Randy went to Japan he had some really odd losses like Inoue and Overeem. The UFC must have made the new fighters sign it and then the other fighters would sign a champions' clause if their contracts were renewed, etc. That reminds me of the likeness and video game images .... The way the UFC owns fighters' likeness is an aggressive move and just seems like in-line with the Fertitta's M.O. For instance, the way they stood up to the Culinary Union in their Casinos seems parallel with the making fighters' likeness the UFC''s property FOR LIFE. The Fertitta's benefit greatly from having a controversial figurehead in Dana White appear as though he is making these tough decisions.... a little while back he was bragging about $100,000 hands of blackjack ... seems like foolish behsvior but there is a reason for him letting it out volountarily.

^Randy and BJ left as champions...the champions clause wasn't "foresight". And Dana has absolutely come across as the type of guy that would counter-program Affliction and Strikeforce. Having said that, I think there's a lot of truth in your post.

I found this post interesting and was would like to know the projects you are referring to. As for the UFC passing him by, I agree. There is NO possible way that the business decisions of the UFC were made by Dana White. The Fertitta's are the Casino owners and they use Dana White to push their agenda. Dana White is their "fall guy" The contracts in the UFC are brilliant and extremely One-sided. The hard reality is that Dana White's credentials in the business world are former Boxercise instructor and ex-bellhop. For Example, Dana White isn't intelligent enough to have the forsight to install a "champions clause" into a contract. The UFC has many good business decisions like that, and only a skilled businessperson would install that, such as the Fertitta's.Other exasmples are counter-programming the Affliction show. This brilliant but grimy business tactic is certainly the result of Fertitta's skillful and devious tactics. Who gets the criticism for these tactics that are productive but aggressive ? ?? Dana White..... So the plan is to have a front man who takes the brunt of the criticism from the Fertitta's. Now that UFC is the only major MMA promotion they refuse to Co-Promote. It is a very good business strategy. Watered down PPV's and Globasl Expansion; Does anyone think Dana White came up with the idea's to leave Vegas and enter the UK, Brasil, and countless other Countries?Removing all copywrited materials from YOUTUBE and gong after violators is all the Fertitta's decisions. After seeing the way the Fertitta's run the business, I am sure that Dana White now knows the platform on how to run the UFC. Think about it as an apprenticeship. Dana White has had a 15-year apprenticeship and I am sure he is NOW qualified to run the company. There is NO WAY that in the early years of Zuffa's reign , thst the Business decisions were ever created by Dana White. The man was a puppet and figure-head.

Actually, when they win the contract they are UFC fighters.. Dana is fucking strange... I thought the fights were fine, and much better than the fights we see between two average American fighters on the big stage, lately.
