Rocha bitter over firing for 'bulls---' loss to Pierce

by Guilherme Cruz | source: tatame.com

Carlos Eduardo "Ta Danado" Rocha entered the Octagon undefeated in late 2010, and keep his streak going with a kneebah over TUF 11 runner-up Kris McCrayin the first.

He lost a split decision to Jake Ellenberger in early 2011, and then underwent surgery, eventualy moving to Team Black House in LA.

After Mike Pierce issued a challenge to "any Brazilian 170-pounder" saying it would be "an easy fight," Rocha stepped up, but lost via unanimous decision (due to a scoring error it was intially reported as a split decision) at UFC on FX 3 on June 8, 2012.

And then he was released.

In an interview with Tatame, Rocha bitterly discussed the firing.

“I went there to fight MMA and he wants to win by points. There were 15 minutes of pure mooring. This is bulls---," said Rocha. “And UFC fires me after a fight where the guy just stood there mooring. I had good performances and even so I was cut off. I didn’t expect this."

“Wasn’t him the one who said he’d fight any Brazilian because it’s an easy fight? I thought he could come for me but he didn’t. He didn’t attack me on the clinch, he didn’t hit me nor let me hit him. That’s not MMA”.

Rocha does not presently have another fight lined up.

“There was one (event that made him an offer), but the guy didn’t wanna fight me," said Rocha. "Now let’s move one, keep my head up. I never give up. I know I’ll get better next time so I can have another chance in the UFC."

He was taken on for UFC 122 (held in Germany) when he was based in Hamburg. Won a stellar sub victory so they kept him on. He'd do awesome in Bellator imo.

We'll give you the two worst style matchups we can and then we'll cut you.I don't even know what to say.

Fuck this cut is disgusting. I went over to their website and out of 64 ww's on the roster, Rocha would rank about 17 or 18, and with huge upside and a really entertaining technical style.
