Korean Zombie: I will end Jose Aldo's reign as champion

source: mmafighting.com

The Korean Zombie called out his next desired opponent on Friday and it's none other than UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. "I want Jose Aldo," Chan Sung Jung Tweeted. "I will end his reign as a champion."

Jung, 25, most recently competed at UFC on FUEL TV 3 where he bested fellow contender Dustin Poirier in one of the best fights of the year at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. UFC President Dana White initially suggested Jung was potentially in the running for a title shot against Aldo, but later stated he was the clear cut top contender.

Even if Jung gets his desired match-up with Aldo for a UFC title, there are two clear obstacles in his way.

I hope KZ gets this fight. I imagine it will happen at some point, even if he has to wait for Aldo/Koch to eventually take place.Any word on who he may be paired with next if the Aldo/Koch fight is going ahead?

This is SO off base. I'm not sure where you get your information, but I can guarantee you that this was 100% KZ's decision. If fact, I didn't even know that he tweeted it until I saw it in a post here on the UG. We had talked about it, but I thought he had decided not to tweet it, but I guess he changed his mind after a week. That's his prerogative. But the UFC had nothing to do with it. Most contact from the UFC comes to me first (or we get it at the same time) and they've never even mentioned anything to us about what to tweet or not. KZ has been wanting this fight since he came to the WEC. It should come as no surprise that a top contender would call out the champ. Interesting theory, though...

I am a huge fan of the Zombie. That said I don't think there is currently a FW around who can take Aldo's title. I think the ones who could are all fighting at 155. I would love to see Aldo Frankie. I also think that BJ could make 145 and give Aldo a real difficult time.

What does this have to do with anything? TKZ isn't going to turn it down if he gets the fight. Hes willing to challenge Aldo for the belt. Who cares if TKZ technically "called him out." He wants to fight Aldo. What exactly did I buy into? You don't think TKZ actually wants to fight Aldo for the belt?

Jefferson, I think most of us understand that.I do agree with you though, none of these three guys have any draw. Aldo > TKZ > Koch, but neither is a Brock Lesnar, let's put it that way, even though I think they all kick ass, personally.

You bought into it. Which is exactly the point of my Promotion 101 post. 1. They ARE in trouble finding opponents. 2. Zombie did NOT call him out.

Who REALLY believes Zombie is calling Aldo out?Are you fools?Promotion 101. The UFC directed this tweet which allows the fans to get emotionally involved. Zombie is a fan friendly fighter, arguably much bigger name than Koch, but is NOT a draw. Aldo, great fighter. Not a draw. Both could create a fan friendly fight and if you stir the pot it allows fans to believe Zombie has a chance as well as inspire them to pay to see it. No one is lining up to see Aldo walk through another guy that offers no real fire power or has no chance. This grassroots promotion could cultivate interest to make Aldo-Zombie a fight that can sell. Jung didnt call out Aldo. The UFC got him to essentially cut a promo to get the fans to take an interest in Aldo's next bout since they are in trouble finding opponents and a way to really market the guy. Enter Korean Zombie. It works. Promotion 101.
