Mark Munoz: Lombard has been 'recycling' cans

by Luke Thomas | source: mmafighting.com

"It's very, very frustrating," Munoz confessed. "I know he's a good fighter. I know that he has a good record, but he was in another organization. To be in the best organization - which is the UFC - and for me to be in the UFC, and to have the best fighters in the UFC that are ranked in the world, and for me to fight them for as long as I've been in there and then a new guy coming in who has been fighting cans..."

Munoz briefly trailed off only to resume his withering critique of the American Top Team product. "As far as I'm concerned he was recycling, he wasn't fighting."

"Let him fight a few guys in the UFC, see where he fares. Then see if he really deserves a title shot. That's where I stand," Munoz said.

lol munoz besst win is demian maia. And i consider that fight to be a robbery. Had maia winning and so did many peopleHe just got wrecked by weidman though so back to the bottom of the pile and doesnt have to worry about lombard stealing his rightful title shot!!1one

Lombard would crush munoz, munoz can't take him down will get possibly taken down or ko'd standing. Munoz is the most overrated guy in the division, definately the most overrated wrestler every fight i see his wrestling looks scrappy.

Beating Schlemenko and Prangley and even Jay Silva elevates him above that, but for the most part his record is cans. Not saying it is his fault, he fights anyone who will fight him, but not title title fight worthy as of yet.

This reminds me of Jake Shields, who was looking great in Strikeforce. Once he went to the UFC, well, he wasn't looking that great anymore and the hype somewhat ended.

Lombard has not beaten the huge names , but neither has munoz , vitor , or bisping, Lombard has beaten everyone he's been matched against so he's just deserving as the rest of the guys

I am going to be biased here because we are talking about what I believe is one of the nicest, most talented and misunderstood guys in the sport.  Hector has looked impressive in his fights, so let's give him a chance and see how he does against Boetsch.  I think he will kick ass, and I think this fight is a great matchup, however difficult, for him. And yes, that's Hector I'm with in my profile pic.  I've had three people PM me to ask me who it was.

Yep.  Maintaining that kind of record in MMA is still a feat in itself.
