Gracie: 'Technically, I'm much better' than Kennedy

by Guilherme Cruz | source:

“He can say whatever he wants. He can be good on the ground, but technically I’m much better. In a Jiu-Jitsu match, he probably wouldn’t have a chance against me,” Roger told TATAME about the challenge

“In a MMA fight, we can’t say. In my last fight, my opponent (Keith Jardine) was far away from being a black belt and I couldn’t submit him”

Roger, who defeated Jardine in his middleweight debut, is open to fight anyone next, including Kennedy

"I guess it can be an interesting fight. Anyone in Strikeforce would do an interesting fight with me”.

"He can be good on the ground, but >technically I’m much better (than Kennedy)<."--Not as far a stretch as past titles... that's how lots of articles from quotes. On topic, sub defence is only one part of the ground game... Roger takes this fight with reach on the feet and jiu-jitsu on the ground.

Up, I like how Roger spoke with complete sincerity there and agree with what he said. Kennedy's MMA grappling control may be very good. I believe Roger's is better in an overall fight though at least 2 out of 3 rounds but you never know with strikes involved. Plus, I am biased.

Roger's size advantage would be a big help against Kennedy too. I wouldn't mind seeing this fight, just as long as Kennedy doesn't fight like he's ahead on the score sheet all the way to another unanimous decision loss.
