Rousey: I'm going to hold it until she is actually dead

by Matt Erickson | source:

Rousey brought the verbal fireworks at Thursday's pre-fight news conference, which Kaufman tried to smile her way through while chalking it up to "That's Ronda."

"If I get her in an armbar, I'm going to try to rip it off and throw it at her corner," Rousey told "If I get her in a choke, I'm going to hold onto it until she's actually dead. And if I get a knockout, I'm going to go all the way. I'm going to try to pound her face into the ground and she's depending on the competence of the California (State) Athletic Commission to walk out of that cage alive."

Gulp. Maybe. But Kaufman, who has won three straight and would badly like No. 4 to give her a piece of hardware, took it in stride.

"I feel really confident going into this fight," Kaufman said. "And I'm confident that Ronda's going to bring it. She's going to show up to fight. She's going to try to kill me – which is kind of mean. But that's all right. At the end of the day, someone's going to walk out with the belt – and I want that person to be me."">read entire article...

Rhonda wants so bad to be a pro wrestler/sports entertainer to sell her fights and her brand just like Chael as everyone already points out. There is "heel heat" and "stfu and go the fuck away heat".Chael straddled the line most of the time and crossed it on occasion.Rhonda is way out there in stfu and go the fuck away land....

I like Sarah's response - sounds like she's going to bring it. Ronda's getting the hype train going. I don't know why this sounds to me like BJ Penn's "to the death (or the middle of the 3rd round whichever comes first)".Hope Sarah can survive the initial onslaught and take her deep into rounds so we can see her tested.

Women's mma has really turned the corner. I was amped for the Ronda Tate fight and I'm more amped for this 1. I am really rooting for Sarah. She's a tough girl and she always shows respect while kicking ass. Sarah has got to stick and move. Sarah was able to stuff Tate's takedown attempts. Hopefully she can stuff Ronda's. Remember Ronda has to clinch to get her trips and throws. Sarah needs to stick and move and stay away, wear Ronda down, take her into the later rounds where she has never been, and use her experience. If Sarah can get through the 1st 2 rounds it will give her a big confidance boost and hurt Ronda's confidence IMO!

I'm all for hyping a fight but Ronda needs to bring the hyperbole down a notch imo

Time for Ronda to simmer down.... It's gettting a little bit ridiculous. I'm a Rousey fan, but damn... Calm down.

Pretty much this. It's obvious at this point that although some of her antics are simply fight promotion, Rhonda is truly a person of questionable intelligence and poor character. It's as if she stopped maturing at age 13. She is a highly skilled fighter, but she also has the character of an obnoxious teenage, attention seeking bully. I wonder if she is even aware of how ridiculous she made herself look here, and how much more Kaufman's grown-up response added to Rhonda's already glaring foolishness.
