NY dismisses parts of Zuffa law suit

by Mike Chiappetta | source: mmafighting.com

In a ruling made earlier this week, United States District Judge Kimba M. Wood granted a motion to dismiss two counts that challenged the constitutionality of the law that prohibited mixed martial arts in New York back in 1997.

The lawsuit was originally filed by UFC parent company Zuffa last November.

The ruling, however, does not dismiss the entire suit, but only two of the seven counts made by Zuffa. Namely, the Equal Protection and Due Process clauses.

In making her ruling, Judge Wood found that the law had a rational basis when it was originally passed, and that even with past safety concerns addressed, the law is still rational today.

Are you a New Yorker or are you just a speculator? How would you know NY politics, much less have in in-depth understanding of what is 'corrupt' here or not?The Unions are powerful, as they are anywhere else, let's not act like NYC is the only place Unions pull this shit. And yes, Zuffa DOES need NYC because it's likely the most revenue outside of Vegas in the country, I'm not sure it isn't the most regardless. You have no idea who is corrupt or not, settle on politics in your state. This is a Union problem, just like it would be a Union problem anywhere else. You want to take a swing at Unions go ahead, but you better aim on fixing every Union, not just ones in NYC.PS: The Culinary Union that started this shit is in Vegas.

The people of NY have let their state become corrupt to where it is impossible to change it without armed revolution which isn't going to happen anytime soon so they can eat shit. You can care all you want it won't change a thing. UFC/zuffa doesn't need NY for shit let them miss out on the revenue they would be taking in instead of pandering to them trying to get permission from them to make them millions of dollars LOL. And LOL at the bullshit ruling, the entire law was based on conjecture that it was dangerous and it is proven it is less dangerous then football! Gee those Judges haven't been paid off have they... LOL!The whole thing is ridiculous they are begging the corrupt politicians/judges to let them make NY some money when they should tell them fuck off. You don't want our money then fine fuck you we'll take our business elsewhere!

Its so hilarious seeing Dana acting like him and Harry Reid are homeboys and then NY State Democrats continually fuck him in the ass.
