Interesting fight.Okami has made some improvements in his striking but he's been one of the top MWs for a while and perhaps his decline is around the corner. The loss to Boetsch i think shows his strengths and weeknesses and im sure he could beat Boestch in a rematch but that was a huge loss to remain an elite guy.Belcher def has some momentum and has improved a lot. Its a good test for both to see where they're at but potentially takes Belcher out of some bigger fights should he lose again, which is very possible. Okami despite being a very good fighter is not exciting and most just arent gonna get excited for any of his fights.

Not unless he rocks Okami first.

I cant think of any time someone has even had an opportunity to attempt a sub on Okami, Id say Belcher would have to hurt him standing to have any shot at finishing him with a sub

Ah Chris your right, the Lombard/Palhares fight slipped my mind. What's Munoz' injury again? I know he had a bad laceration on his forehead, but what was the layoff causing injury?

I get what your saying , but the fact is he's been winning. And finishing. If he beats his next opponent, I just don't see the logic in making him earn a title shot just because of a layoff.

I dont see how Belcher would have jumped the line, he has only fought twice in the last 30 months. If Weidman beats Boetsch he will probably be next in line, Belcher would need another win if he beats Okami

Lombard is fighting Palhares and Munoz is hurt and could be out a year.So that doesnt leave many options for Belcher. Belcher/Okami is fine.and Belcher aint getting a shot unless he beats Bisping, Weidman.

Wow, questionable match making. Belcher , who is on a 4 fight stint, just stopped Palhares (which IMO should have been a close to contender match), gets put up against Okami? Okami just defeated Buddy Roberts, after suffering 2 losses. Should have put Okami against Lombard or Munoz. If Alan defeats Okami, give this man his title shot Lorenzo, if anyone in the MW deserves one, it's Belcher.
