White goes off on Greg Jackson and Jon Jones

by Andy Samuelson | source: mmafighting.com

"The Jon Jones piece of meat (expletive) thing. When I see him in (expletive) Toronto, that's the first (expletive) thing we're going to talk about. Piece of meat? Give me a (expletive) break," White told a small group of reporters gathered at the UFC headquarters, about an upcoming conversation he would have with Jones before his UFC 152 fight next weekend against Vitor Belfort in Canada

"That sounds like something a male supermodel would say: I feel like a piece of meat out her (White said in a mocking voice.)

"The thing that drives me crazy about Greg Jackson is Greg Jackson has this whole little thing where he's the nicest guy in the world, the nicest guy you've ever met. Real quiet and humble. He's a (expletive) hardcore businessman," White said. "That's what that guy is. He plays the whole thing with Jon and Rashad (Evans) and (expletive) Jardine and all these guys 'We're all family, we're all brothers. We're a big family here and that's what we are. We won't fight each other because we're family.'

"(Expletive) You're not family. You train together. Yes they like each other. There's a lot of nice guys in MMA. Keith Jardine is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Rashad is cool too. This sport is full of nice guys. (But Greg) plays this card with these guys…"

Before White could catch his breath, his rant on Jackson continued.

"The only reason we even know who Greg Jackson is cause of (expletive) Diego Sanchez," White said. "Diego Sanchez came out of his camp because of GSP. GSP wanted to come train at Jackson's camp and Diego was like (expletive) that (expletive). 'This is my house, man. I'm going to have to fight this guy one day.' What did Greg Jackson do? (Expletive) GSP down there isn't he. You know why because he believed GSP would (expletive) beat Diego Sanchez. He made a business decision. I will take him over him. What happened to (expletive) family?

who else mentioned the word "snake" in this thread other than me? I dont see another instance of the word from someone else. Both Rashad and Diego didnt want their future competition coming into the same camp as them. They voiced their opinion to not let the new guy in the camp but were assured by Greg that they would never fight each other. When push came to shove Greg pretend he had no idea it would come to this and bowed out. He knew one day GSP would fight Diego and he knew Bones would fight Rashad. He didnt care, he knew he would get more money with more fighters and knew he would still be the coach of both the winner and loser of that match. They left when he screwed them over.

Well, we were talking about snakes with Dana White in the same sentence and you mentioned someone else as the snake so.....Btw, how did Jackson take GSP and Jones over Diego and Rashad exactly? I seem to recall both Diego and Rashad left on their own calls and that one of them also came back.

Exactly. JBJ would have gotten laughed out of the arena if he competed during the SEG era and pulled this crap. If someone got hurt in the tournament you got the next guy, period. Imagine if Royce had said no to a replacement because his advancing opponent got hurt. He would be a laughing stock like JBJ seems to be these days. Cindy

It was in the UFC's power to replace the main card entirely, even without Jones. Yep. They sould have kept the event going so that folks couldn't get a refund on their tickets, many of which cost hundreds of dollars. They should have just screwed the fans and said "I know you paid to see a title fight, JBJ and Hendo but that can't happen now because Hendo got hurt and title holder Jones refuses to fight another opponent... but thanks for the money." I mean, cards are subject to change, right? It's on the tickets. Who cares if it was only 8 days out? Pfft. Look what they did with the Aldo/Rampage card. He lost the main event and co-main event, yet miraculously he had no problem replacing those cards. Yeah, kinda cool how that worked out with over 30 days notice to promote the show. Creating the event programs, t-shirts and hats was still on the to-do list and travel arrangements for fighters hadn't even been made yet. Miraculous. Why they couldn't pull all of this off (and more) for 151 with only 8 days notice in beyond me. It should have gone just as smoothly as the Oct 8th 153 card will when it happens next month-- the extra time shouldn't have been necessary in order to get the same result. War Bellator! He could have done the same thing with 151, but instead chose to teach Jackson and Jones a lesson for defying him. With the same notice he absolutely could have done the same thing. But he had 8 days not 35 so what's your point? He chose to not mislead and rip off the fans who spent hundreds of dollars to see Jones defend his title- which is exacty what would have happened since there was very little time to re-promote the show with replacements. People would have shown up to the arena and ordered PPVs thinking they were going to get to see Bones, Hendo and a title on the line when in fact they wouldn't have been getting any of the three. Jones accepting Chael as an opponent would have allowed 151 to still offer a title fight as well as the main guy folks were paying to see but he said no. LOL@ they simply canceled the show to teach Jackson and Jones a lesson! Cindy

It works when he has all the leverage. How did it work for signing Fedor?
