Manager: Bisping vs. Silva good for business

by Steven Marrocco | source:

"If he comes out victorious on Saturday night, there's no question he's a top contender in the division," Attar today told Radio ( "It's only fair for a guy that's been in the sport as long as he has."

Fair? Who said combat sports was fair? Promoters have the ultimate power as to who fights whom, and which fights are best for their best interests.

Bisping is still a good choice, Attar said.

"If they're looking for that opponent that's going to sell pay-per-views, Bisping is the one," he said. "There's no question that love him or hate him, people love to watch him. And he's an exciting fighter. He tries to put on a good show for the fans, and I also believe he never disappoints."

Has Bisping beat anyone in the top 10 in the division? No. He is the most protected fighter in the UFC and should he get a shot at Anderson there is no doubt that Anderson will destroy him.

I would watch, nobody wants to watch weidman vs silva right now. Bisping, if he wins tonight, more than deserves a shot at the the title after fighting in the ufc for like 6 years.

I thought Maia beat (barely) Weidman. For sure, he won the striking exchange.I know he took that fight on a 11-day notice... but he can't strike against Silva like that, or he will be k.o.ed in less than a minute. That said, his takedowns are phenomenal.

I don't think Bisping is really going to bring anyone extra who wouldn't of bought it anyways regardless of who Silva's fighting.

Based on Silvas losses, despite losing to Belcher, I think Palhares is 1a next to Weidman as his biggest threat. And yes those losses were a long time a go but it's the only weakness ever exposed besides TDD during the first Chael fight but Chael did little damage.

Bisping will bring in a high PPV number and the card will sell because a) he is a well known established fighter who will fancy himself standing with Silva, b) he is a UK guy fighting for a title and c) people want to see him get knocked out and anderson is good at doing that to people.I think he's earnt the shot, he's only losses are to studs and he won't be afraid to stand.

lol @ getting shots based on how long he's been in the sport for... these fuckers are all grasping at straws now.. Bisping doesn't deserve a shot, even if he starches Stann in 30 seconds.
