Machida opens as 2-1 favorite over Henderson

by Gene Mrosko |

The same can't be said for the odds, which were revealed today by MMAOddsBreakers.com. Machida is favored slightly at -220.

Henderson brings up the rear at +170.

Considering "The Dragon's" notoriously difficult to figure out style, it makes sense the younger and more athletic Brazilian would be favored here, at least at first. "Hendo" might get some late action on the strength of that missile right hand of his that so many pundits pointed to as his one shot at taking the light heavyweight title from Jones.

If you were fighting at least one, and quite possibly two, weight classes above where you naturally belong, you'd be "chinny" too. And let's see how "lackluster" Rashad is at MW - and there is a real good chance we will soon find out, especially if Wagner Prado does beat Phil Davis, in which case Prado then likely fights Rashad, and "retires" Rashad from the LHW division.

LOL you have no idea who Rashad has fought do you?Yeah, Rashad's record looks nice on paper, but look at who he's actually fought, and how he's wonRashad has had many lackluster performances against sub par competition, and against good competition etcBefore the Machida fight, Rashad had only FOUGHT two big names his whole career (Liddell and Forrest)That was it!Rashad got KO'd against MachidaThen Rashad fought Thiago and RampageThose four opponents are the ONLY good wins Rashad has had,and even then, he(Rashad) was lackluster in 3 of those 4 winsI really do thin k Rashad is over ratedRegardless, Rashad has been rocked in a lot of fights Rashad's sole ability to take a punch to the head is suspect. Rashad IS a chinney fighterKeep sppining it how ever way you want

It's not likely Machida will KO Hendo, but its possible. Anyone can get caught, even if they have never been KO'd.

Not saying they have glass chins but they are indeed chinny. Machida hasn't finished guys with great chins is all I'm saying. It's not a knock on Machida, just pointing out that Machida ko'ing Hendo won't be as easy as people think.

Call them what you want. Rashad has fought the best of the best and was knocked out by only one of them. spin that however you want.Point is, machida knocks guys out who are otherwise able to avoid being knocked out

Ya they're chinny...Like I said earlier, you can grasp and try to spin things however you want, but those three fighters are known to be chinny.

Rashad, Thiago, and Bader are "chinney" compared to who? What gives you that impression? Because they have been rocked by other elite fighters?(not knocked out, mind you). Do you think Hendo has never been rocked? Go into his fight archive. It has happened multiple times

Of course Machida knows how to strike. That's irrelavantRashad, Thiago, and Bader have all been known to be chinney fighters. That's the point
