Silva: 'No way' to potential bout with Jon Jones

source: mmajunkie.com

Anderson Silva might be willing to move up in weight to fight Stephan Bonnar, but he won't fight light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

"There are many possibilities, but fighting Jon Jones is one of them that I don't think is possible," Silva said today during a press conference in support of UFC 153. "There's no way."

The middleweight champ's proclamation was the latest of several objections to the superfight, which has drawn heated interest from fans since Silva's record-setting 10th consecutive title defense earlier this year.

@whadafykumeanitstaken - you must be kidding if you're saying jbj is about the same size as Anderson. JBJ is a very big light-heavyweight where Anderson is a natural middleweight. Anderson's record in the UFC and as a champion speaks for itself and anyone dismissing him as being the GOAT is ridiculous. Why dont you just go and complain that Anderson is ducking JDS too while you're at it.

So he is not willing to fight a champion who is nearly the same height and size-and fights at a weight AS has also fought before-hell is is even fightimg at this weekend. But he is willing to go down a weightclass to fight someone much smaller thax him in a division he has never fought in before.Any AS GOAT has got to go after this. The GOAT fights anyone. The GOAT doea nlt Void people his same size to avoid a loss. AS GOAT conversTions are officially dead.

Agreed. I honestly don't think we'll ever see a super fight of this magnitude. One guy will have to lose and in turn they lose a chunk of their allure and marketability which will hurt the UFC a little bit financially. I don't see them letting that happen. Hope I'm wrong!
