Thiago Silva: I wasted three years of life with ATT

by Dann Stupp and Christian Stein | source: mmajunkie

UFC on FUEL TV 6 co-headliner Thiago Silva hasn't won a fight in more than three years.

Injuries and a drug suspension have played a part in the lack of recent success.

But Silva, a member of the fast-rising "Blackzilians" team, told a three-year stint with his former team also was a problem.

"Once I moved to American Top Team, my life started going the wrong way," Silva said of the super camp, which has produced some of MMA's biggest names. "It wasn't a good team. I think I lost three years of my life training the wrong way. Their coaches didn't have much to teach the athletes. I'm glad I found a real team now and I now have the ability to get back on track."

"I wasted three years of my life [at ATT]. But ultimately it was my choice, my decision. I paid the price. Now I have to get back in the race."

"All I have to do is get back to my old habits of working hard in the gym. We didn't train hard at ATT. I only noticed that after I left them."

AT&T is a great company... Maybe he should learn how to use the aps? Thiago Silva is a good MMA fighter. He is exciting. He likes to stand and has wild stand-up. He will brawl with anyone. Great takedowns, exciting ground game and excellent transitions.

I think ATT would be an awesome place to train, personally. But Thiago actually trained there and has the right to speak about his time there and his opinion. I'm glad he found a camp he is more comfortable with. Always a fan of his and can't wait to see him back in the octagon.

Noone is saying any of it is true, only that it has been rumored and talked about from time to time.I have seen it brought up numerous times. No reason it cannot be discussed. Calm down.

All I'm gonna say is if you have never trained at ATT and have nothing to base your statements on other than internet rumors and hear say then you should seriously shut the fuck up
