Sam Stout disappointed in Makdessi 'running away'

source: mmamania.com

Stout, who lost a unanimous decision to Makdessi on the preliminary portion of the card, feels Makdessi didn't come to fight at the Bell Centre, but rather to fight cautiously.

"He wasn't fighting," Stout told MMAmania.com moments after his defeat. "He was running the whole time. I wanted to fight, I came to fight and I didn't get the fight I wanted."

"I usually like to come out and put on an exciting fight and it takes two guys to do that, to do those kinds of fights," Stout explained. "And you know John, he ran, he kept on moving the whole time and I was expecting him to fight me a little more."

"He never really hurt me, obviously I have some superficial damage and my lips are little swollen but yeah, it's just a disappointing experience, it's not the end of the world, you know, I'll fight another day but, yeah, I guess that's the best word to describe how I feel -- disappointed."

Lol at running away, this is MMA and you are allowed to take people down or press them against the cage, if he felt like Makdessi was ''running away'' he should have tried to do either of these things or just rushed him like prime Wanderlei would.

If anyone thought Makdessi's style was boring, don't appreciate technical striking, especially from a countering standpoint, with accuracy. He had some of the best jabs and evasiveness I've seen today. His overall striking skills is definitely something to appreciate.

Oh so Makdessi pulled a "Stout" on Stout and that's not ok? Stout ran from Fisher and got a BS decision.

I thought of that as I was posting it. Still:     Makdessi: 28 strikes per round Condit: 30.2 strikes per round   Similar countering strikes. Jab to face vs. jabs and leg kicks. Opponent walking forward the whole fight. Etc etc etc. :)   :P

Not to argue you with you one way or the other...But it's 3 round fight vs 5 round fight. Makdessi SHOULD land significantly less if there are similar strike outputs every round.

I wouldn't say he ran, but Makdessi's style is not to my liking.

What comes around goes around (fisher fight). And Stout has looked the same from the first time I have seen him.
