50 Cent: MMA and boxing can coexist

MMA Heat's ever awesome Karyn Bryant caught up with rapper, entrepreneur, investor, and actor 50 Cent, who is now promoting undefeated former World Featherweight boxing Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa.

50 Cent (real name: Curtis James Jackson III) talked about his entry into boxing, why he chose Yuriorkis Gamboa, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and MMA. Specifically, Bryant asked if boxing and MMA can co-exist.

"I think they can," said 50. "It surprises me, the people that are actually involved in MMA, because the discipline involved in martial arts allowed parents to take their kids when they were very small. You see people that you'd be surprised have actually acquired those skills at the real early part of their lives, and then they add different boxing and wrestling formats and they put it on.

"But those guys don't look like a traditional fighter. That's the guy on the train that you say the wrong thing to, and you find out you shouldn't have been talking."

Good interview, but I wish they would interview more people who like MMA, rather then people who despise it. I don't mean 50 Cent, but it seems ever time they interview someone it's always Nick Cannon or that pornstar chick with the harry bush covering her sores. I would rather hear an interview of celebs who like MMA or even train MMA, like Guy Richie, Shaq, Nick Cage, Maynard from Tool, Jared Allen, Jason Statham, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Ed O'Neil just to name a few ideas.

Maybe I just wanted to see ppl response and compare it with ppl's response on the Justin Bieber thread. What does the fact that, I dont care about what a pop icon has to say, have to do with having a life?
