Dana White: Bisping 'probably' next for Silva if...

source: The Underground Blog

Friday night Hector Lombard called out Michael Bisping, but Saturday night UFC President Dana White said he may have greater plans in store. After almost seven years in the the UFC, Michael Bisping may finally get a shot at UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

“If Bisping wins, Bisping will probably get that next shot,” said White at the TUF 16 Finale post-fight press conference.

The if of course is Vitor Belfort, fighting on his home turf. To get the Silva, Bisping has to beat Vitor Belfort at 'UFC on FX 7’ on January 19th, 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Bisping has won five of his last six, losing only to the Eveready Bunny of UFC title contenders Chael Sonnen.

Will Bisping get by Belfort? And if so, what will his gameplan be vs. the GOAT?

Stop Sonnen won rd.'s 1 and 3 easy. I know you don't troll but wtf? Bisping beat one decent fighter ever (not any single top tier one). Hell even if he beats Belfort when was the last time Belfort won any huge fight at at (never at MW BTW)?Bisping is a pure gimme fight for AS which he has positioned for forever.

Standard of opponents counts for something in my book. Belcher has zero top ten wins and Lombard lost the second he stepped up to the big league. Same old line regurgitated every time Bisping's name is mentioned. Plenty think Bisping did enough to beat Chael who is without doubt the second best 185er.

Paul Harris who was also on a 3 fight win streak at the time with 2 brutal leg locks. Not to mention how he beat him too - played footsy with a guy that nobody in the world should play footsy with and pounded him out. That was more impressive to me in comparison to Bisping's close decision win over Stann.

Who the hell has Belcher beaten? I don't care if he has 10 straight wins, if none of those are Top 10 fighters, it's irrelevant.I know he posts here so there are plenty of huggers but c'mon.

I don't think he deserves a title shot, but I'd love to see the DisCount get smashed by Silva.

Every time I hear Bisping's name I think of this disgraceful act:
<br /http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB_nxp_Wcv4

While agree with you I don't think Belcher got screwed to bad I. The Aliyama fight it was a very close fight. But Alan has definitely improved immensely since that fight.

Why would any sane person talk about fighting someone after they fight Belfort? That's like saying after you climb Mount Everest, you will swim the Pacific Ocean.
