Report: Daley arrested for assault; Semtex proclaims innocence on UG

by Josh Gross | source: espn.com

English welterweight Paul Daley has been removed from Bellator MMA's upcoming Season 8 170-pound tournament, according to a representative for the promotion.

Daley, 29, is barred from entering the U.S. after being charged with assault stemming from a bar fight, the promotion said. He faces up to two years in prison.

Daley's manager, Wad Alameddine, did not immediately return a request for comment.

Daley himself has called this story 'rumours', but did confirm today on the Underground that his next fight will not be for the Bellator promotion:

Again, Daley posted on the Underground denying the allegation:

A statement has been made on my Facebook page. These rumours are untrue, I was not involved in a bar fight, was not arrested recently, I am however waiting to hear on my visa situation, this will no likely be until April.

Yes, I'm well aware of that, which is why I felt I should at least give you guys an explanation. Not that you deserve it. :p

Does anybody on earth really think Paul would have been able to make weight for all his tourney fights anyway? All this really did was save Paul the embaressment of being booted from the tourney for missing weight.

Bummed to hear about this. Was looking forward to seeing him in Bellator. :(Also, lol@Pete and all of the gullible tards taking him seriously. I legit lol'd @ "congradulations, you spotted one of three errors", followed by them/her still thinking YOU were the moron, haha (well you still could be, but still...).That kind of "intelligence" from UGers is why I don't post much these days. :p

Wat? You're trolling, right? The punch fucked his eye up, Koscheck even said it hit him pretty cleanly at the post-fight press conference.

Someone accused of a crime says they didn't do it? Stop the presses! Paul Daley has lied at least, what, ten times? Every time he said he'd make weight and didn't was a lie.

It doesn't matter what Josh said in the last round or any round for that matter. Daley had 15 minutes to do something and failed. He then took an open opportunity to sucker punch a guy who just dominated him. Was a bitch move and unprofessional.

And when it comes to honesty and integrity, people who sucker punch others don't have much of either and therefore their word means nothing.
