Gustaffson vs. Mousasi will be five round bout

Things can get a little dicey when you start to expand outside the usual channels, as White and Co. found out when they started talking turkey with the Swedish MMA Federation (SMMAF).

The good news is, the safety-conscious Swedes are on board for UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Stockhold, Sweden, according to our friends at

The union wrote in its application that the match should go between two established, experienced and highly qualified MMA practitioners who are so skilled that they are approaching the level of world title fights.

Against this background and taking into account that there are two practitioners who are at the world level, approves Martial Arts Delegation one game on 25 minutes. The decision was not unanimous. The delegation's Medical expert neurologist doctor Bjorn Lindvall at the University Hospital in Orebro, are dissenting. The actual decision on the CAB website.

It's important to note that the SMMAF has not changed its position on head trauma and this ruling should be considered the exception, not the rule.

Funny I think one of my posts got deleted and there was absolutely no reason for it.I said "I believe a five round fight favors Gus" how is that worth deleting idk unless I'm confusing threads.Anyway, Gus is a very difficult opponent stylistically. He has crisp striking a huge reach and he uses the jab well. I don't think moose can win the striking, I'm not saying he's a worse striker than Gus but I don't think he can close the gap without paying for it.On the ground whoever gets top position should be able to finish it.

Really happy to hear this, But at the same time im pissed that Shogun didn't get his 5 rounds against Gustafsson. That was a #1 contenders fight. It was supposed to be a bigger fightShogun vs Gusatafsson being only 3 rounds was a robbery. Imagine if Shogun vs Hendo were only 3 rounds? At least Mousasi now has 5 rounds to beat Gustafsson.Mousasi nor Gustafsson have really big power. Gusatfsson has an iron chin while Mousasi is tough. I see this fight going the decisionMousasi will have to out strike himThat is going to be tough,Especially if Gustafsson is looking to score points with takedowns in the same way he was trying to out point Shogun with takedownsBut Shogun has much better BJJ, so Gustafsson will likely try to pound Mousasi out from the topMousasi vs Gustafsson is a much closer fight then people realise mIt should be a good fightI hope Mousasi can pull out the win.Gustafsson will probably win the decision thoughThe winner or this fight should absolutely get the title shot over Machida

I like Mousasi alot and think he'd have great success at MW as he hasn't shown much at LHW.  People forget that it was less than 2 years ago when he was fighting to a draw with Jardine and he hasn't beat anyone impressive since.  Great fight though and Alex better f'n get his title shot after winning.

Your S/N should be a reminder for you to stop being vocal about who you pick in fights.

Yeah I remember Dana white saying "from now on all main events are 5 rounds" I was pissed they couldn't get that shit figured out in the contracts because i would've LOVED to see 2 more rounds of Diego/jake. Glad the UFC is sticking to all main events 5 rounds, wonder if they could bump up co-mains to 5 as well? And IF they can, why haven't they yet?
