Johnson flagged for elevated testosterone, indicative of a steroid

Today the California state athletic commission released the results of drug testing for February's UFC 157 in Anaheim, CA. Heavyweight Lavar Johnson was the only athlete with a suspect test. MMAJunkie has the story:

A post-fight drug test for UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson (17-7 MMA, 2-2 UFC), who lost a unanimous decision to Brendan Schaub (9-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) at UFC 157, has been flagged for elevated levels of testosterone. An additional carbon isotope ratio test "confirmed the testosterone was consistent with the administration of a steroid," according to CSAC Executive Officer Andy Foster.

MMAjunkie.com recently requested and today received testing results from the California State Athletic Commission, which also passed along word that the event's remaining tests came back clean.

Foster clarified that the initial failure was not due to an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) level, but could not provide further details on Johnson's failure at the time of this writing.

According to an article I read about him being cut, that's exactly what Lavar is claiming. http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2013/03/ufc-cuts-lavar-johnson-following-failed-drug-test-ufc-157-loss"In a recent discussion, Johnson admitted he was undergoing testosterone replacement therapy, Foster said, but failed to disclose it on a pre-fight medical questionnaire."Also, you don't just disclose that you're now injecting a banned and illegal anabolic steroid and get a pass. It must be approved by the commission.

so what you're saying he was on TRT and didn't disclose it?

His total testosterone levels were never released and I don't think the CSAC actually has those figures from the testing. Also, the CIR test confirmed that he was adding exogenous testosterone. Not only that but according to a few articles, Lavar admitted to using synthetic testosterone.

According to John Morgan, "Kizer said he was told Lavar's initial elevated level was 6.2:1 T/E ratio, triggering the CIR test." even though in the article in the OP stated, "Foster clarified that the initial failure was not due to an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) level". The T/E ratio threshold in CA is 4:1.So which one is it?
