JDS: I'll take Hunt down and tap him if I have to

"Tell them, everything I know, I learned from the losses."
-Jack Dempsey

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos appeared recently on MMAJunkie Radio, and said he has grown as a fighter.

"I was trying to fight standing all the time," said dos Santos. "But it's MMA and you have to use Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling. So now, it's more clear to me. I have to use all my skills to win the fights, especially when you're fighting against someone like Cain Velasquez."

JDS fights Mark Hunt at UFC 160 on May 25, 2013, and is planning a multi-dimensional attack.

"You have to get prepared to fight anywhere," said dos Santos. "I'm training a lot in my jiu-jitsu skills, and I think I'm getting more confident in that area. If I feel I have to take him down, I will do that, and I will be looking to submit him."

If JDS stands and bangs (bro) I think he is in trouble. Hunts head is just about as hard as Big Country's dome.  Same cement-like category.  And JDS gave it his all, repeatedly, and could not effectively rock Roy.  The round-one just kept on coming forward. However, while Big Roy can certainly launch a well-aimed freakin' haymaker-of-doom and is not to be taken lightly on his feet, Hunt is a whole nother level of awesome standing.  Much, much more dangerous all around striker. JDS is in serious trouble on his feet against Hunt.

Well you are right that K1 doesn't translate well to MMA but in this case, it will. JDS believes that he is the best striker in the game. He showed terrible ground skills against Cain and got destroyed. He will stand and strike with Hunt and I'm betting that his pride gets the better of him and he won't jab and run. He will stand in the pocket and get stretched! Just my opinion about JDS. Most other fighters would try to take Hunt down but JDS won't He thinks that nobody can stand with him!He will be proven wrong . Mark my words !

I love JDS -- I want him to be HW champion again, I think it's awesome he's being honest and think it's a sick evolution of his game if he can integrate his wrestling currently reserved for awesome TDD and his serious BJJ credentials into his striking style...Having said that, Hunt was born ready. You know this
