Even at the grand age of 49, despite not fighting since November 2010, ‘The World’s most Dangerous Man’ is not ready to call it quits.
Ken Shamrock will be returning to MMA to take on British MMA star Ian ‘The Machine’ Freeman for ‘The Legends World Title’ on July 27 at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster, England.
Shamrock made his desire to fight Freeman public when he commentated on BAMMA 12. His wish has been granted after some heavy negotiation.
"It is going to be my redemption! Tour i am going to make a statement for all the bad fights i have had in the last few years," sadi Shamrock. I can't tell you why i had those bad fights, but you will ask after you see my performance against ian and then people will listen to me and know it is not just making excuses why i did not perform."
"i will retire if i dont perform the way i know i can but you need to support me if i thump him the way i know. I will God bless."
Freeman is one of the pioneers of British MMA, most notably beating Frank Mir at UFC 38. Freeman, 42 has not been active to a competitive level in quite some time but has kept himself in shape by competing in charity kickboxing fights and also running his own gym.
The pair had been scheduled to fight a decade ago at UFC 43, but Shamrock withdrew with a torn ACL.
