Jon Jones: Fight with Anderson Silva will happen 'for sure'

source: MMASucka

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently appeared on 99.3 The Fox’s Jeff O’Neil Show in Vancouver, Canada for a unique interview.

How unique?

Well, he was asked if he drinks pee.

“You know I haven’t tried it, yet," quipped Jones.

Then he got asked a question that is believed never to have been asked of a current UFC champion, or anyone in the UFC, or, pretty much, anyone - cut or uncut?

“Well first let me start by describing it," said Jones. "I am circumcised and beautiful and chocolatey.”

With the important questions out of the way, here is what Jones thinks about Sonnen's chances Saturday night.

“I respect him a lot," said Jones. "He’s really tough. I think he’s trying to soften me up and make me unfocused. I know he’s training really hard and I think he’s trying to speak soft and have a big schtick. I’m prepared for the big schtick, I know that sounds a little weird.”

Jones was asked to say something nice about Chael.

“I think he has a hot mom," said Jones obligingly.

And how does Jones plan to end it?

“I definitely want to end this fight in a devastating fashion," said Jones. "My kickboxing coach has been working on some pretty nasty tricks that we believe will fall right into Chael’s tendencies, landing on his chin of course knocking him out. My jiu-jitsu coach is actually having me work on some things that are pretty extensive. I am pretty confident that this fight is going to be stopped and Mike Goldberg is going to be saying ‘It’s all over.’”

“Definitely getting a knockout, it’s something I haven’t done in the UFC yet. Before I was in the UFC I knocked out six people, maybe it was four, six sounds better we’ll go with six.”

The interview also covered the future looking past Sonnen, specifically a fight with UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

“Is this interview live?" asked Jones. "Yeah definitely, there will be a time, there will come a time. One day, I said it first here. Normally I beat around the bush, but it’s going to happen for sure.”

Hmmm let's disect what you have just said?"Silva was taken down and controlled in the rematch w/ Sonnen as well..."True Silva was taken down. But he was he was only taken down once and Sonnen hardly had any control and was only able to throw three clean shots the entire 4:30mins."Bonnar was ragdolled and tossed about by JBJ"Not really a fair assessment since Jon as a newbie at the time. Today he would be able to take him just like Silva did."Silva will get taken down by JBJ"That's doubtful since Jones will not chance going to the ground against a Black Belt in BJJ. Its also doubtful since Silva has learned the art of takedown defense."Question is can JBJ finish him from there."A better question would be if he would get finished. Pretty much everyone who has put the champ on his back has been submitted. The major thing Silva has going against him is the age difference. Boxers will attest that speed and hand eye coordination are first to go. You still see the punches coming, but you can't react as fast.

LOL @ 195lbs being fairAnderson is the 185lb champ and is very VERY accostomed to making that cut...He would actually be stronger at 195lbs.Jon Jones as EEEEEEEEEVERYONE knows is a HUGE LHW....Everyone says he's a HW, etc...By this logic the 205lb cut must be killing him...He would be like a gigantic cracked out meth head @ the 195lb cut. Weakest verion of Jon Jones we would ever see.Anderson is CLEARLY incredibly effective and strong at 205lbs and he has already proven 3 times. All 3 times he has gone in there and OWNED against big ass LHW's...clowning a former champ in the process...If anything Anderson Silva looks a great deal more effective, powerful, and able to dominate, and finish quickly at 205lbs...IMO he has looked his absolute best and most dominat at 205lbs, not 185.Jon Jones has never fought at 195lbs. He should not start w/ a stronger version of Anderson Silva while he himself would be at his absolute weakest.

Silva was taken down and controlled in the rematch w/ Sonnen as well...Bonnar was ragdolled and tossed about by JBJ....Silva will get taken down by JBJ..Question is can JBJ finish him from there. Anderson is ultra durable, skilled, and may have the best chin in MMA...On the feet JBJ will be much bigger, lengthier, physical, and, athletic, and talented than anyone Anderson has ever faced in the ring...JBJ in turn will be facing the saviest best skilled fighter of his entire career.WOW @ this fight

Silva demolishes CW and Bones KO's Chael. Silva challenges GSP, he declines. Jones says he'll fight Silva, fight happens (hopefully in MSG). Silva vacates the title, AS vs JJ is for the 205 belt. Machida for the 185 belt as the co main. Oh yeah 1st UFC sponsored by Nike (Nike's gonna sign Machida calling it now)

I don't get your point? I've heard Dana mention a few times that he's asked Silva to fight at 205 but he was not interested. I'm sure there's a few different interviews out there mentioning this. As far as the Bonnar, Griffin, Irvin fights, you think Dana said "hey your fighting these guys or else"? No dude, I'm sure he asked if he wanted to take these fights before the contract was signed. And about Silva beating Jones, that's just common sense man, you should use some. Yes Jones is a great fighter, but he is still young in this sport. Silva will pick him apart in the stand up department. Especially if Jones tries any of his flashy techniques. It may take him a few rounds and won't be easy but Silva wins that fight. I can't tell if your stupid or just ride the short bus, either way I'm sorry, just keep on truckin little buddy and you'll be ok.

Well not just that, but this is a very high profile fight, so make it even and do a catch weight, both fights give up an equal amount which is fair.

First I wanna say reading this has been a awesome way to start my retirement from the military. Anyways, I am a huge Anderson fan bu to do think the only chance he has is at a smaller catchweight. Jbj a animal, his wrestling and throws are unreal, as far as Anderson's tDd has come i still tuink its not at a level that cant stop JBJ. So I would really like a catch weight lol.

VTFUAS is a great 205er and fought there a few times already. Talk of catch weight is BS. It can be a non-title fight. No one gives a fuck in that fight, we just want the fight.
