Mitrione apologizes for insensitive comments on trangendered Fallon Fox

Earlier this month Matt Mitrione made some inappropriate about Fallon Fox, a transgender athlete who competes in professional women's MMA. Mitrione was suspended and find by the UFC for his actions, and today apologized:

"I want to apologize for my hurtful comments about Fallon Fox and a group within our society which, in truth, I know nothing about," Mitrione told ( "I know now there’s an important line between expressing an opinion on a subject and being hurtful and insensitive. ^^ straw man alert!I like the new America better, where a queer can chop off his bamboo and beat up women legally. Anyone who disagrees should be fined, sanctioned, and forced to listen to Rod Stewart!

RE the pussification of America:So true. I miss the good old days, when men were men and women were women, raping your wife was OK, you could beat the shit out of queers, and coloreds had their own drinking fountains. Can't we bring back the real America?

Mitrione I thought did a good job apologizing for a portion of his comments while still standing up for the fact he's allowed to have an opinion.Oh, and absolutely this was fulfilling Zuffa terms to have his suspension lifted.

$100 says apologizing was part of his deal with Zuffa. Not like he even needed to in the first place...

I thought it was a good apology. Rather than take back his original statement, he apologized for the manner in which he presented it. This lets everyone know his feelings haven't changed with regard to Fallon as an individual, while also acknowledging that he made a mistake.
