Rampage: Breaking point was White talking s--- about me not making weight

Quinton Rampage last week announced his move to Bellator Fighting Championship after he finished his contract with the UFC. Rampage was unhappy with his latest run in the UFC, but it was words of UFC President Dana White's words that were the last straw and made his decision easy:

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson made millions in his six-plus years in the UFC, but it appears his breaking point wasn't over money, but over Dana White being critical about him to reporters when he failed to make weight for his UFC 144 fight with Ryan Bader.

"He talked s*** about me not making weight," said Jackson on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Monday. "That's when I decided I was going to leave the UFC."

Jackson had over the next year insisted that when his contract was up, after his next fight (which ended up on Jan 26 in Chicago, a loss to Glover Teixeira), he was gone. He said that he didn't even consider the offer UFC made to sign him to a new deal, even though at the time, he had no idea the Bellator/Spike/TNA offer was coming.

"I knew I wasn't happy with UFC," he said. "I haven't been happy for a long time. I did a lot of smart investments, saved my money up, worked on rehabbing my knees. I knew I was going to get out of there. I knew I was going to bounce."

It is business...just like Rampage not making weight. Personally I am just tired of all the bitching. The sport has passed Rampage by. Thank you for the great memories and I am happy for him getting the chance to do wrestling. He is a good talker and knows how to put on a show. He will do well. Let this bitching about the UFC go...

Why don't you stop being so fucking stupid? Dana didn't do that because he's kind, he did it because Rampage was a huge star at the time, had held the belt just days earlier and had made the UFC a shit ton of money. LOL at this idea that Rampage owes Dana anything, that was all business.

Please, Rampage was well on this path well before he missed weight.Rampage is one of my favorite fighters of all time but he needs to either take some responsibility or quit bitching altogether already.

Dude, don't be stupid. Dana stood by Rampage in many ways when that happened. They could've cut Rampage after that BS stunt he pulled. Instead they stood by him and took a lot of heat for it. I still don't think it was the right move, but Rampage is the last person who should be criticizing the UFC. He should be showing more gratitude and less diva-like behavior.

If what might have happened otherwise is irrelevant, what exactly did Dana accomplish and how did he help Rampage, realistically? Posting bail doesn't keep someone out of a trial, are you saying Dana bought the DA somehow?

This, and all for a fighter who went 7-5 in the UFC--and made more than $20 million in the past 6 years.I was a fan of Rampage until he became such a drama queen.Hopefully his new deal will deliver what he needs, whatever that means.
