Henderson: I thought I won

As UFC president Dana White explained during the UFC 161 post fight media scrum, the main event was so close either Dan Henderson or winner Rashad Evans could have gotten the nod without raising any eyebrows. After the fight, Dan Henderson respectfully expressed his belief the he won.

“He stood there and fought me," said Henderson. "He didn’t run away. It was a close fight. I thought I won (although) he kept the pressure on in the third round and never let me get a little breather. He did a great job fighting tonight.”

Further, Henderson has no intention of retiring.

“I’m just a little more pissed off now than before," he said. "More pissed at myself than anyone else. I’ve got no one else to blame.”

Who do you think won the fight?

29-28 Rashad. Rashad was able to accomplish what he wanted more than Dan, and that was apparent thru watching Dan getting tired after winning the 1st round. Even before the cut in the 2nd rnd. I could tell Rashad was able to implement his gameplan and be more effective, which led to the 3rd rnd. that Rashad clearly won.

This. If JBJ wasn't in the division the title would change hands every other fight and people would be talking about how tough the division is.

its not weak at all.jbj is just that much better and makes it appear that way..after him the top 5-10 guys could all beat each other. a few of them could make 185 if they really wanted(i think its a mistake a couple of them dont do this). imo they would fuck up everyone in that division minus andy, vitor, chris, and maybe 1 or 2 others(def gd fights w all these guys and id like to find out what would happen). mw and hw division is far weaker.

usually a 'takedown' is the only thing that can get ufc-brand commentators hard. hashad must be too explosive for them, cause they were cuntily trying to hype takedown defense in a context they never have before.

Just to keep things in perspective, Anderson Silva started his career at welterweight.  He also fought 3 former UFC/Pride LHW champions (and finshied all 3).

It was close but no way to give it to Dan imo, Rashad clearly had more in the round imo.

Seeing that hendo did nothing in rounds two and three, i think he should have won.
