Is there anything that would prevent Jacare from fighting Anderson if he were to win a few more fights? Are they friends/training partners/etc? I've always been curious how that would pan out if Jacare had a little more time to work his striking.

I feel like it's just another example of the UFC matchmaking putting a guy w a lot of hype & fan interest behind them in a no-win situation. What's worse is that even if the opponent wins they don't steal that hype from them. At this pt, a win over Bader won't do much for Tex, he should be fighting machida, rashad, or mousasi. 205 has very little interesting challenges for Jones to begin with. I'd hate to see one of them wasted before any big time fights. Jacare is in a similar situation - I feel like Okami at this point is too good to be a gatekeeper but very few people enjoy watching his grinding style & silva already embarrassed him. It's a unique matchup but whenever Okami is involved, I tend to think its going to be an ugly type of fight.

Bader is a big and powerful wrestler who has had some impressive moments. He may not be the best fighter ever but he's still a beast and we haven't seen Glover fight a wrestler, at least of Bader's level, yet. I would have rather they saved him for Rashad just like everybody else, but they want him fighting in Brazil but Rashad did just fight and Bader is definitely the best option available if they want that to happen. Whether he is top 5 he is still probably the best fighter Glover will face, unless you count Rampage.

Considering Glover's age and how he's beating people left and right I'm starting to wonder if maybe they're kind of protecting Jones from him. Not that I think Glover would be considered a favorite but he seems like he might be the biggest threat at LHW and he's shown no signs of slowing down but he is starting to get long in the tooth and I'm sure they'd rather have a younger champion.

Like has been stated numerous times, this is another fight that Glover will get absolutely no credit for when he wins. He's in a lose/lose.People constantly discredit him all the time on this forum citing his lack of top 10, top 5 wins and this trend will merely continue.
