Belfort unlikely to get rematch with Silva

Having won his last two bouts with devastating knockouts, Vitor Belfort recently campaigned on a Twitter for a bout with the winner of Saturday's UFC 162 main event. However, the scenario is unlikely:

“The hard position that Vitor is in is when you talk about a rematch for him. (Silva) went out and kicks him in the face in the first 60 seconds for one of the most devastating knockouts of all time,” said UFC president Dana White following the UFC 162 pre-fight press conference on Thursday.

“So when you go back to Anderson Silva, who is in the twilight of his career, and you say to a guy like Anderson, what about Vitor? ‘I annihilated Vitor.  I got other fights that I wanna fight.’ You talk about his legacy and his this and his that. Those are tough fights to make,” added White.

You left out the gif of Silva removing the vaseline from his face and rubbing it on his body... makes the ground escape a lot less impressive.

Vitor has always fell flat against championship level competition. Vitor is 1-4 in UFC title shots and his only victory was when a doctor stopped his fight with Randy 49 seconds in because of a cut. Otherwise Vitor would be 0-3 against Randy and everyone knows it. Don't get me wrong I'd be down to see Anderson annihilate Vitor for a second time, but what the fuck would be the point?

^^^^^ I don't think Vitor was on TRT for the Anderson fight, FYI.

Possibly the worsty analogy ever and definitely the one that has the least amount of thought behind it. Cain was champion and got a rematch because of that. Also, he was injured and unable to train for that fight and it hurt him. Proof was what happened in the rematch. Vitor was 100% PLUS had "extra" help. No excuse from him. Do you guys have any semblance of reading comprehension ability? Read this 3-4x until it sinks in: “So when you go back to Anderson Silva, who is in the twilight of his career, and you say to a guy like Anderson, what about Vitor? ‘I annihilated Vitor.  I got other fights that I wanna fight.’

Exactly, forget the b.s. Dana is telling us. The truth is that it is a business decision not a competitive one.And on that note (as mentioned by another UGer) wtf was the UFC thinking serving Rockhold and Bisping up to Belfort? Now Dana's got 3 legit fighters he can't give a title shot to. Or, maybe the joke's on us: The UFC is intentionally eliminating challengers so Silva is more open to fighting JBJ ... Naw, too many things can go wrong in that plan.

There were a few exchanges before the KO, and from what we saw Vitor had nothing for Anderson...           He even matrixed him on the ground and flung him off like ti was nothing

then do.. vitor vs mousasi. its hard not togive him title fight after beating 3 top contenders. but mousasi is different from bisping or rockhold, get a better scrap out of that fight.
