Report: Silva wants rematch Super Bowl weekend

Speaking with Joe Rogan immediately following his loss to Chris Weidman, Anderson Silva was adamant that he didn't want a rematch and didn't want to fight for the title anymore. However a report today is that Silva has already changed his mind and is hoping to fight Chris Weidman again in February for the UFC's big Super Bowl weekend card:

According to Lauro Jardim (@radaronline), from @Veja, sources close to Anderson Silva revealed he wants a rematch with Weidman on Feb. 2014

Now the usual disclaimer. Guillerme Cruz is a respected in journalist in Brazil, however Twitter isn't always the most accurate source of information. However, most fans and members of the media believe that is likley that after thinking it over Silva would want a rematch to avenge the worse loss of his career.

Seems to me it should be the NYE show. Biggest fight on the biggest card. More than enough time for ko recovery, Waiting too long robs excitment from the card. Its like the hw tourney that Cormier won, started out great but by the time it ended no one cared. Also why would Weidman take ANY fight and chance blowing the biggest payday of his career.

If y'all didn't see this a week before the fight y'all stick to the forum to much and don't look in to things.

Anderson will be even older, Weidman will be more experienced and improved. Anderson will spend the next 3-4 months enjoying his family and getting away like he said, Weidman is already back in the gym. I am glad there will be a rematch, as respectful and classy as Anderson Silva is, his fans need to see him punched relentlessly in the head for 5 rounds before they accept the fact that Weidman is just that much better. Great to see an evolved fighter at 185 who can finally give the division some credibility. A division has no credibility if it only has 1 great fighter

Training camp hasn't even started. Not for two weeks. Then a full preseason, a 18 week schedule, a 12 team playoff, then a bye week, and finally the Super Bowl and silva/weidman II and something dumb like faber or rashad co-maining.

This has been the Anderson I have wanted to see. It was only a matter of time until he changed his mind. With that said I hope Weidman does the same, I like them both but I think the fans win this!
