Joe Lauzon can fight famously, Chael Sonnnen can work a mike, famously, but Nick Diaz has, among other things, an infamous reputation - Nick Diaz does whatever he wants to, which frequently involves no showing media obligations.
Michael Schiavello's popular The Voice Versus interview series on AXS TV booked the UFC welterweight to appear, and to great disappointment, if no great surprise, he no showed.
Schiavello Twitter expresses his disappointment.
•Flying to the 209. Looking forward to shooting The Voice Versus @nickdiaz209 tomorrow!
•@nickdiaz209 has no showed The Voice Versus. Nick you have let your fans down again... And me a big fan in particular. Unprofessional mate.
Previous guests of The Voice Versus have included figures are diverse as George Foreman and Steven Seagal, Steve Austin and Dana White. Each of those luminaries have extraordinarily tight schedules, but still found time for the highly-regarded show. Diaz did not even have to fly out of the 209 for the interview, as Schiavello flew into Stockton for the taping.
In the end, despite all the time and money lost trying to get Nick Diaz to do his job, the person most hurt by Nick Diaz's refusal to play the game, is Nick Diaz.
