Machida: Anderson Silva was pressured into rematch

Immediately following his loss to Chris Weidman, Anderson Silva announced that he wouldn't find a rematch and wouldn't fight in a title fight again. However a week and a half later, the UFC announced that the rematch was a done deal, something Lyoto Machida says Silva was pressured into by the UFC:

“I want to make this test and fight in this weight class. I am not a very large guy for light heavyweights, so I don’t find difficulty at all in fighting as middleweight. I am waiting a better position from my managers and after this fight we are going to see what will happen,” he says.

“Anderson’s rematch is fair; the guy rule division for long time. He maybe didn’t really want to fight for the belt again but the UFC demanded it. I believe it wasn’t only Anderson’s intentions that prevailed in this situation.”

Not even sure why this rematch has take place all the way at the end of December. I mean, it wasn't even that big of a draw the first time around. Dana should've made this fight in September or October.

For some strange reason, I want to see Lyoto Machida do the Harlem Shake dance while posing with Justin Bieber.

If you were to draw bell curve of world champs and when their declines began taking into account how many years they fought already it's not a bad prediction.

Back when Fedor was in his prime, and Anderson was contemplating taking the Light Heavyweight crown, just before Machida came along and won it, Silva said he wanted to rule the LHW division alongside Machida, with Machida, without fighting his pal. He said at that time, he would like to take on Fedor too, eventually. All for the love of the game and challenge himself, to be the best in the world against anybody. Silva said he likes the game so much, he would do it for free. Of course, Shogun, and Rampage, and Evans showed up and Silva wanted nothing to do with those guys, even though they all wanted a piece of Silva. Anderson promptly vacated the division, after tooling Irvin, a no-name loser, and when Griffin, and Bonnar got offerred Silva was right there to take down those Pylons. He signs a ten fight deal and doesn't want it ( the title ) anymore. He is tired. The pressure is too much ? Where does Bones Jones fit in ? Anderson said he is open for the fight with Bones, if conditions were right, a catchweight maybe, money, location. Then he said Bones is too good and would beat Silva. We don't know what that means. He is in for GSP of course, GSP being so small. It just looks like Silva simply wants to beat up on little guys, or pylons. When a bully gets bullied, he cries, he cowers, runs away, looks for help ( Did anyone notice Anderson looking at Herb Dean during the Weidman fight ? I most certainly locked onto that. Watch it again. You'll see. ) Everything smacks of a child bully getting bullied back. He looks for help, lashes back in frustration ( The all out, angry effort just before he got KO'd ), then he runs to Thaisland in the guise of..this time, i'm serious, and will retool in Thaisland. He's running, and hiding.

He didnt say anything about retiring. He was talking about not wanting the pressure of defending the belt anymore, but still fighting...Whether he was being honest or not who knows. No one knows what Anderson is really thinking.
