Cormier: Jones talking like a 16 year old girl

Undefeated Daniel Cormier has recently said that his next bout at heavyweight against Roy Nelson will be his last, and that he then he would like an immediate shot at the light heavyweight title.

UFC lightheavyweight champion Jon Jones is not impressed.

"DC is a guy who really wants to be famous," said Jones. "I don't think he wants to work hard. I think he just wants to be famous. You can see it in his physique; you can see it in his card."

"I hate answering questions about him. He's just not relevant to me. There's so many great fighters in the light-heavyweight division. He's not even top five in his division..."

"He has short reach, bad cardio, he looked terrible in his last fight. It's like, I'm not worried about him at all."

During the UFC 163 post-fight show in FUEL TV, hosted by Jon Anik, Cormier appeared to offer analysis, and directed some remarks at Jones.

“When I hear his quote, it’s like a 16-year old girl," said Cormier. "Jon Jones, grow up bud, we’re going to fight regardless of how you feel. And when we do and I’m cutting the line and you might as well pull the guard because I’m taking you down.”

Liberals are raised to believe that life should be fair and everyone should be equal. When they see someone who is cleary more talented or someone who is willing to work much harder than them, it doesn't compute, they don't understand. And out pours the hate.

I also dont get all the hate about DC dropping and getting a shot at Bones either. Jones last two fights where against Sonnen coming off a loss to Silva and a win against Stann & Bisping and Vitor coming off a loss to Silva and wins against AJ and Akiyama both guys MW's without recent fights @ LHW at all. If Bones beats Gustaffson the division starts to look pretty thin outside of rematches. Glover & Davis are your next options and are either of those two guys really that much more deserving than DC? DC is undefeated, SF HW GP champ, ranked #2 HW contender by the UFC right now and his last two wins are against the two guys who recently challenged for the belt @ HW in Mir and Bigfoot. He's only fighting Nelson cause Cain & Junior are tied up with a fight and he wont fight Cain for the belt anyway. I do think he should fight at least one other top guy at LHW probably Glover or Davis not just to be deserving of a shot but more to make sure the cut goes well and he's still able to perform at the same level in that division.

Yep, I agree with both your posts man. I think you're right that Sonnen vs Jones would go the same 9 outta 10 times even if he did go for a takedown I only used it as an example that nobody has really gone after the takedown and relentlessly tried to put Jon on his back yet - a lot of people thought Sonnen or Rashad would do it but neither did. I also agree that DC will probably try to push him up against the cage which is what I think makes this fight so interesting. DC was able to make a big guy like Frank Mir look like a child in the clinch against the cage at times and was able to lift and slam a heavy guy like Josh Barnett in the 3rd round with a broken hand. If he keeps cutting slowly and is only really losing the fat and not much muscle he's gonna be a big strong guy with a very solid wrestling base @ LHW. My point is, if DC can get him up against the cage I think he has the power and skill to potentially be the first to put JJ on his back - what happens after that is anybodys guess. Jon may pop straight back up, he might sub him he might even KO him before DC can get him near the fence, who knows! But I do think DC is the most legit threat to JJ right now because of this.

LHW is shallow enough that he'd only need a win, maybe two. Given the doubts over making the cut, that would just be smart. Don't want to fuck it up and fight Bones after a bad cut. He'll get fucking smashed though, whenever he fights Bones.

I really hope DC does not get to jump to the head of the line but I bet he does. It will be ridiculous though if it happens. It would still be dumb if he was the former HW champ but he is not even the #1 contender in the division he is in. He needs to go to the back of the line and prove himself at lhw if he wants a shot at the champ and being the friend of Cain should not have him jump ahead.

Emotion is for women and the greatest fighters of all time have fought friends and sparring partners.

I'm waiting for the evidence that DC's teammates said he was lazy. There's a reference to kidney failure on his wiki page but the reference link is dead.BTW, I don't get the Jones hate either. He's a cool dude.

Cormier is also the next in line at HWT for a title shot

I am not a fan of this dropping weight and cutting the line trend..... Pettis was atleast the #1 contendor in his division. DC needs to fight his way to the 205 title shot.
