Vinny M: I'll retire if cut by the UFC

When UG favorite Vinny Magalhaes left his gloves in the Octagon following a 14-knockout loss to 40-year-old Australian Anthony Perosh, many wondered if he was retiring.

Now, in an interview with MSN Brazil, Magalhaes says if the UFCs releases him from his contract, he will likely retire.

"I have one more fight left in my contract, but we all know that it doesn’t mean much and there’s a chance that I get cut," said Magalhaes. "Before this fight I said I deserved to get cut if I didn’t win. I’m waiting for UFC’s decision, anything can happen, but I really don’t care, man."

"People say that the UFC doesn’t pay much to their fighters, but if you look to the other events it’s even worse. So if they cut me, I don’t see why I should keep fighting in other event. I'd rather open my own gym than fight for little money. I stopped fighting in Jiu-Jitsu because of the financial part, so it would make no sense for me to return now. If the UFC doesn’t renew my contract, I’ll stop."

Retire. Never liked him, won't miss him. Smug ass is feeling himself way more than deserved. MMA would be no different if he never existed.

Yes Sir. Fighters should watch what GSP does, there is a reason he makes the most, by far, in endorsements. It's not for being a punk.

From what I recall, a strong MMA fighter punched him in the face pretty quickly. Shit happens bitch.

The way he disrespected Perosh before the fight and during weigh-ins was appalling, then he got completely owned. I'd delete my twitter and retire as well. Karma won son.

Is there anyone who thinks that Bellator or WSOF should take a chance on him after the M-1 fiasco and UFC second chance? Doubt he would even pursue an offer given his opinion that he deserves to fight only at the highest level and the reality that his head and heart don't seem to be in the game. Would be surprised if any MMA schools are interested in having h coach either with his history of quitting a school after a few months and then publicly trashing both the school and its fighters thereafter. All the grappling talent in the world cannot solve the problems that, unfortunately, Vinny had created for himself.

Yes it CAN happen to anybody, but you can't just write it off like that. They met in the middle of the cage and Perosh nailed him with a straight right then pounded him out Hippo-style. Vinny's 1-4 in the UFC, wouldn't be surprised it he's cut.
