Pettis: Champions are becoming point fighters

Anthony Pettis is without a doub one of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster and that's a style he hopes to bring to UFC championship fights, which he says have become point fights:

“You see a lot of champions becoming point fighters,” Pettis said. “These guys want to keep their belts and there’s two sides of that story. Every challenger is very talented. Look at the lightweight division, everybody there is very well matched. It’s going to take a factor to change that to have somebody dominate these fights. That’s what I’m looking to do. All I can do is go in there and implement my game plan and hope for the best.”

“I want be the guy that goes out there and gives the fans a show. That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day,” Pettis said. “You’ve got so many fight fans and so many fighters, but I like to be that guy that fight fans want to watch because they don’t know what’s going to happen. I strive to be that different fighter and set myself apart from the group.”

Probably because Pettis is the only one to beat him. His striking, creativity and finishing ability has greatly improved.

Hendricks is not beating GSP and of course Pettis can beat Bendo, he already has.

I don't find Bendo boring, he's usually in close exciting fights, but given that they're always so close, that takes away from his status as a dominant champ. I think Pettis is going to finish Bendo late, I just think he's a bad matchup for him and Petiis has Bendo's number.

There is a really good way to eliminate the GSP, Bendo issue.Real simple too, somebody go out there and dominate them and just kick there ass.

Bendo may not finish his fights however his fights are exciting. GSP really are boring fights. I think gsp does it purposely to win. Bendo just lacks power I think because he does get in there and engage. ...
