3rd title fight added to Bellator PPV: Curran vs. Straus

Bellator MMA has added a third title bout to their PPV debut: Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran will fight Daniel Straus on November 2. The fight is a rematch, with Curran taking the first by KO in the second, back in April of 09.

“I’ve been with Bellator since the beginning, and seen my career grow as Bellator has,” said Curran said. “It means the world to me to be able to defend my title on our first pay-per-view, especially with such a tough fight ahead of me. I’m not taking Straus lightly. He is an incredibly tough featherweight, and I’m not even thinking about our first fight in 2009, we are two totally different guys right now.”

Strauss expressed similar sentiments.

“When Pat and I met in 2009, we were two completely different fighters," said Strauss. "Both of us have developed so much in that time, but I still want that loss of my record. That fight taught me a lot about where I was as a fighter, especially considering I’ve gone 17-1 since we last met.

“This won’t be a long, drawn out process. I’m going in for the kill.”

Announced fights on the card now include:
Daniel Straus vs. Pat Curran (Bellator featherweight champion)
Emanuel Newton vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (for interim light heavyweight title)
Eddie Alvarez vs. Michael Chandler (Bellator lightweight champion)
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Tito Ortiz

Winston Wolf,I cant respond to your email because you only accept messages from friends. You need to calm down and not take the internet so seriously. Giving your address to complete strangers isnt very smart.

I agree, people put too much focus on rankings. Once that cage door closes rankings, belts, ect., don't mean shit. People get too caught up in all the top contender and ranking nonsense. It's there for people to talk about, that's it. In the end the only thing that matters is who's hand gets raised.

You are just wanting to talk shit.Alvarez, Chandler, King Mo, and Curran are all top 10. And to be fair it's not like Tito and Rampage are the worst fighters in the world. Rampage and Tito have only been fighting top 10 talent and they have had some excellent performances. But yes the fight is simply for fan enjoyment. This card is more stacked than a lot of UFC ones have been this year. If you don't want to buy it that's fine... I pick and choose my fight cards too but don't insult the fighters.

Actually, Bound For Glory in October is TNA's biggest PPV of the year.Pro wrestling PPVs are tough to sell these days because pro wrestling companies hold big matches all the time on the free weekly shows, thus making the PPVs not seem too appealing. Plus, pro wrestling fans stream PPVs even more so than MMA fans.I don't think Bellator or Viacom truly believe that a massive amount of TNA fans are going to order Bellator's PPV when they don't even order TNA's events. I think they are just looking to increase the exposure and overall buys throughout all the platforms under their umbrella.
