Josh Barnett's last fight in the UFC was in August, where he took out Frank Mir in under two minutes. His UFC fight before that was 2002, when he beat Randy Couture for the UFC heavyweight championship. Barnett lost the title over a failed PED test; he now has his aim set on regaining the heavyweight title.
Standing in his way is Travis Browne; the pair fight at UFC 168 in Las Vegas, on December 28.
"The Warmaster" appeared on Friday's edition of AXS Television's 'Inside MMA' and discussed his plans for Browne.
"There is going to be at least 500 pounds in the ring," said Barnett. “It’s a big opportunity for me. This guy is an up-and-coming young buck. He wants to prove his name, he wants to show that beating a guy like Alistair Overeem was not just a flash in the pan. He’s gonna look to make his name off of me, and I’m gonna look to just carve another headstone.”
What do you think UG? Browne started fighting just in 2009. At 35 and with over 16 years ring and cage experience, does Barnett have what it takes to beat Browne, and if so, how do you think it will end?
