JDS: I can beat both Klitschkos in boxing

UFC heavyweight Junior Dos Santos appeared on Monday’s "The MMA Hour" with Ariel Helwani ahead of his title fight Saturday against heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez on Oct. 19 in Houston, Texas. JDS says with four months training (one more than his usual camp) he could beat either of Klitschko brothers, Wladimir or Vitali.

"I’m a boxing guy," said dos Santos. "I love to box with my training partners and everything but now everybody is saying this, everybody wants to fight with boxing guys. It’s become not sincere. When I say that, I’m sincere."

"I think if they give me four months to get prepared, I can beat them. In the beginning of all my camps, I do just boxing. I love to train boxing and I think I have enough skills in boxing. I know how to see a good fight. Four months, that’s what I need."

"I did talk to Dana but just a little bit once. It wasn’t very serious. Next time, maybe I’ll do that."

How do you think JDS would do vs. the Klitschko bros? With four months training? And what do you think you could do with four months training?

Well, it's not like he would do worse than his last two outings with Cain.

JDS isn't saying he can knock them both out or anything crazy. It is well known that the Klistschko's can be outboxed by lesser fighters who have great speed and movement. JDS could outbox them by staying on the outside, but he would have to be careful as the Klistchkos have more power, longer reach, and a weight disadvantage. It would be a tall order, but I think JDS would win.

Sometimes you don't even know where to start, pal. ;-)Junior would get ruined. He has NO awareness of the basics/fundamentals. Like someone has already said, Wlad would PUNISH Junior with his jab. And then he'd be eating so many rights that he'd be begging Wlad for a left. People can slate Wlad's chin, but that's in the past. WORLD CLASS BOXERS can't do A THING to Wlad. Junior has power, but so does everyone at that weight. And, fuck me, if he thinks he's fast he'd be hitting fresh air against someone like David Haye.Junior is a big fish in a little pond with his hands in the current HW landscape in MMA. Punching holes through Roy Nelson and doing it against a WORLD CLASS fighter like Wlad who was a WORLD CLASS amateur AND professional is two different things! It's like comparing smoke signals to an iPhone 5.

How long you been watching the sport mate? , not very long by the sounds of things.Rather than risk what happened in the first fight Cain did not out box JDS on his feet,Cain was clever and mixed in strikes with countless takedowns rather then play in to JDSs strength and have a standing fight with him ,thats very different to fighting standing bro. The only way Cain wins a return is if he mixes it up with takedowns, otherwise go watch the first fight an see what happens .The out come of a third fight will all depend on JDS and what he can do to negate the wrestling .
